A Person Was Arrested With A Haul If Heroin Yesterday (16)

 Special Police Task Force Personal had arrested a person With 2 kilos and 230 Grammes of Heroin in possession at Rajagiriya area yesterday (16) it has been reported .


Accordingly the stock of Heroin was wrapped in two parcels and worth more than Rs.20 million the Task Force had announced. .

The Suspect is scheduled to be handed over to Police Anti Narcotic Bureau to question further .

Two Corona Deaths Reported Today (16)

 Another 02 Corona deaths had been  reported  today (16) increasing the total number of Corona deaths reported in the country to 534 according to National Covid -19 prevention center .


Accordingly a 75 year old female and a 59  years old male resided in Kandy and Negambo areas  respectively had died due to Covid Pneumonia it   has been revealed.

274 Corona Positive. reported Today (16)

A total of 274 Corona Positives had been reported today (16)in the country ,Increasing the total number of Corona positives reported so far to 88,524 according  to Epidemeology Unit .


At the moment 2619 Corona Positives are being treated at Government hospitals and quarantine centers the Unit has stated .

CID Arrested Forner Western Province Governor Azath Zali

The  Criminal Investigations Department (CID)Officers had today (16)arrested the corner Governor of the Western Province and the leader of the National Unity Front Azaath Zali to question over the Easter Sunday attacks in 2019


.

CID officers had arrested the former  Western province governor this evening at Colpetty area (Colombo ) and he is scheduled to be questioned on Easter sunday attacks whilst at detention under the Terrorism prevention act according to Deputy Inspector General Of Police Ajith Rohana .

Zali was arrested accordance to the instructions of Attorney General Dappula De Livera .
