Another 20 Hour Long Water Cut To Be Implemented In A Section Of Colombo District Today (06)

 Another  major 20 hour long water cut to be implemented in Rajagiriya ,kolonnawA Urban Council area ,Moragasmulla ,Obeysekarapura ,Bandaranayaka pura ,Nawala and Koswatte areas from 9 a.m this morning (06)until early morning tomorrow (07) by one of the most corrupted institution of Sri lanka the National  Water Supplies and Drainage Board it has been announced .


This long hour water cut  is scheduled to be implemented for a renovation work of a major water pump pumping water from Ambathale to kolonnawA the Water Board had stated .

According to sources the water board is implementing this kind of  unnecessary water cuts during weekends to allow their workers to earn extra payments .

This is the second time during last two weeks that long hour water cut is being implemented  in Colombo district citing a  major repair work .

Following Anti  Corona health guidelines become harder due to long hour water cuts   






 


Another 338 Corona Positives Reported Yesterday (05)

 A total of 338 Corona positives had been reported yesterday (05)and 384 positives the day before (04) in the island ,Increasing the total number of Corona Positives reported so far to 84,960 according to National Covid -19 Prevention Center .


Accordingly these Corona positives were close contacts of previous Corona positives reported from.several corona clusters the Center has stated .

At the moment 3146 Corona positives are being treated at Government hospitals and treatment centers it has been revealed .


Nine Corona Bodies Had Been Buried Upto Yesterday (05)In An Area Selected At Batticaloa District

 Bodies of 09 Persons died from Corona infection had been  buried at ottamawadi area in Batticaloa District  up to yesterday (05)after the health authorities allowed the Corona dead bodies to bury there it has been reported .


A 10 acre land in that area is being allocated for the burial of Corona dead bodies according to Health authorities .

Earlier iranathivu Island in Trincimalee District had been selected for burial of Corona bodies by the Health authorities which was later halted due to the protests of residents in  the island. .Residents of Iranathivu Island had even  closed the graves dugged there to bury corona dead bodies .

Sri Lanka had only allowed cremation for  Corona dead bodies since the Corona pandamic began last March .

Sri Lanka Approved Russia Made Sputnik V Ani Corona Vaccine For Use In Sri Lanka

 The Specialist Committee of the National Drug Regulatory Authority (NMRA)  has yesterday (04) approved the Russia made "Sputnik V " Anti Corona Vaccine for an emergency use in Sri Lanka according to Health Ministry sources .This Vaccine which is not yet been approved by World Health Organization for an Emergency use is the second Anti Corona Vaccine  approved by the Specialist Committee of the NMRA  For the use in Sri Lanka'.

However yesterday  the foreign media had been reported that Many Russians are avoiding taking the Sputnik V Vaccine due to the side effects of the Vaccine .

Sri Lanka To Receive 264,000 Doses of "Oxford " Corona Vaccine Under "Covax " Facility This Sunday (07)

 Sri Lanka is due to receive 264,000 doses of Oxford -Astra Zeneca "Covishield "Vaccine under the first phase of  "Covax "Corona vaccine facility of World Health Organization (WHO) this Sunday (07) according to State Minister of Covid -19 prevention Primary Healthcare and Epidemiology Dr.Sudarshani Fernandopulle .

Sri Lanka is due to receive Corona vaccine doses under "Covax " facility of WHO for 20 percent  of the local  population the State Minister has stated . 

Sri Lanka so far received 500,000 doses of the "Covishield  "vaccine made in "Serum " Institute of India as a donation from Indian government and another 500,000 doses of the vaccine purchased from the "Serum " Institute .
