Navy Had Recovered 1900 Kilos Of Turmeric Brought To Sri Lanka Illegally

 Sri Lanka Navy had taken into custody around 1900 Kilo Grammes of Turmeric at Sinnapadu beach in Mundalama area in North during a raid carried out in the area this morning ,(20).


The stock of Turmeric which brought through sea route from India  violating the quarantine rules was stored in 59 polythene and fertilizer sacks to prevent absorbing water  according to Navy. The stock of Turmeric worth more than Rs . 11 million is due to be handed over to Sri Lanka Customs .

The suspects who brought this stock of Turmeric through fisheries boats had fled away from the area at the time of the raid it had been revealed .

Two Areas In Induruwa MOH Area Had Been Isolated

 Thundawa West and Thinduwa East st Infuruwa  at Induruwa MOH area in Galle District had been isolated with effect from last night after identifying 41 corona cases in these areas the National Covid 19 Prevention Center has announced .


The isolation had been implemented according to the instructions of Southern Provincial health authorities the center has stated .

618 Corona Positives Had Been Reported Yesterday (19)

 A total of 618 Corona positives had been reported in the country yesterday (19) increasing the total number of Corona Positives reported do far to 36,667according to National Covid-19 Prevention Center .


Accordingly all the Corona positives reported yesterday were close contacts of the Minuwangoda ,Paliyagoda and Prisons corons clusters  Total number of Corona positives reported from these clusters do far had risen to 32,998 the Center has stated .

At the moment. 8944 Corona positives as the being treated at Government hospitals and treatment centers 


Six Corona Deaths Reported Yesterday (19)

Another 06 Corona deaths had been reported  in the country yesterday (19 )increasing the total number of Corona deaths reported so far to 171 according to Epidemeology Unit ..


Accordingly three females and three males resided in Colombo -15, weeragula,Colombo -14 ,Colombo -10,Kiriwanthudawa and Bandaragama areas of the ages 39,68,77, 76,88and 83 years  had died due to the complications of non communicable Diseases suffered by them as a result of Corona infection .

Two of the deceased had died at home .
