A 20 Day old Infant Died From.Corona Infection At Lady Ridgway Children's Hospital Last Evening (08)

A 20 day old infant has died due to Corona infection after being admitted to Lady Ridgway Children's Hospital yesterday (08) it has been reported

The Child who was admitted to the Ridgway hospital in the wee hours of last morning (08)due to severe Pneumonia has died last evening whilst receiving treatment .

The infant who is from Modara area had tested positive for corona virus at the PCR test performed on him after his demise .

The infant was the youngest corona victim of the country and the Corona death toll in the country is now increased to 143 with this death .

798 Corona Positives Reported Yesterday (08)

A total of 798 Corona positives had been reported yesterday (08)increasing the total number of Corona positives reported here so far to 29, 379 according to Epidemeology Unit .

Accordingly 797 out of the 798 Corona positives reported yesterday were related to Minuwangoda Brandix ,Paliyagoda Fish market corona cluster (567) and Prison Corona cluster(230) .The total number of Corona positives reported from these clusters up to now is 25,822 the authorities have revealed

Another Sri Lankan Corona positive who had arrived from abroad was identified yesterday at a quarantine center whilst under quarantine there.

At the moment 7978 Corona positives are beimh treated at Government hospitals and treatment centers
