Several Fish Stalls In The Country Closed Due To Their Links With Paliyagoda Fish Market

 Several fish stalls in the country including all fish stalls in Hatton town had been closed down due to the links with Corona Positives and the Paliyagoda fish market  where a Corona cluster has been created according  to reports .


Accordingly All fish stalls at Hatton town had been closed down due to the "PCR "tests carrying out on  all employees in these. Fish stall,a fish stall in Homagama hsf been closed down as a result of the owner of the stall tested positive for Corona virus 10 persons including the family members of the stall owner and employees of the stall   to are  being self  quarantined  and due to undergo "PCR "tests to check their Corona status .

Meanwhile several fish stalls in Thalawakale were also closed down due to its link with Paliyagoda fish market .


Quarantine Curfew Imposed In Kotahena Police Division

Police had imposed the quarantine Police Curfew in Kotahena (Colombo ) Police division with effect from 6 p.m yesterday (22) to prevent the spreading of Corona virus .


Earlier in the day Police had imposed the Quarantine Police  Curfew in Mattakkuliya ,Modara ,Bloemendhal ,Wellampitiya and Grandpass police divisions with immediate effect until next Monday Morning (26)to prevent the spreading of Corona virus .

309 Corona Positives Had Been Reported In The Country - Majority Were From Paliyagoda Fish Market

 A total of 309 Corona positives had been reported yesterday (22) ,increasing the total number of Corona positives reported in the country to 6287 according to Epidemiology Unit .


Accordingly 188 out of these positives were from Paliyagoda fish market Corona cluster and 22 were from two garment factories in Katunayake ,02 from Quarantine centers and 97 were close contacts of the positives.

At the moment 2712 Corona positives are being treated at government hospitals .

Meanwhile Head of the National Covid+19 Prevention Center Army Commander General Shavendre De Silva had yesterday appealed from those who had visited the Paliyagoda fish market during last seven days to contact their nearest PHI and undergo "PCR " tests to check their Corona status.

Second And Third Readings Of The Controversial 20 th Amendment Passed In The Parliament Yesterday(22)) With Two Third Majority - Few Opposition MP's Helped Govt To Passed The Amendment

 The second reading of the  controversial 20 th Constitutional amendment had been passed in the parliament  yesterday t(22) with two third majority ,as 156 MP'Ss voted  for and 65 voted against the Amendment 


Three MP" s belonging to main opposition Samagi Janabalawegaya' party including it's Assistant Secretary Diana Gsmage voted  in favour of  the Constitutional Amendment as well as few MP"s of the party"s of MP's Rauf Hakeem and Rishad Baduideen who were voted against the Amendment .

However former President and. Current MP Maithripala Sirisena was absent at the time of the voting .President Gotabaya Rajapskshe had also present at the parliament during the voting held last evening to witness the event .

During the Committee stage of the third reading ,the Amendment has passed again with 156 voted for and 65 ,voted against it  and the 17 th  clause of the Amendment which allows dual citizens to enter parliament had been also approved during the voting when 157 voted in favour of the clause which was scrapped by previous  goodg government whilst 64 voted against it .

The controversial 20 th Amendment  gives more executive powers to President which scrapped through the 19 the Constitutional Amendment by former Good governance government 

Even those within the government who had opposed dual citizens entering parliament finally changed their mind and voted in favour of the clause which surprised to many .

Main opposition Samagi Janabalawegaya' Party has decided to take disciplinary action agsinst it's deputy Secretary the National list  MP Diana Gamage who had voted in favour of the Amendment by going against the party decision .

A female Of Kuliyapitiya Has Died Due To Corona Virus -Making It The 4 th Corona Death Reported From Sri Lanka

 A 50 year old female  receiving treatment for Corona infection at IIntensive Care Unit (ICU) of the infectious Diseases Hospital (IDH)in Angoda has  died this evening(22)due to  complications occured on her prolonged illness,,making it the 14 th Corona death of the country .


The female who  was a resident of Kuliyapitiya had been infected  with the Corona virus after attending a wedding held at a Church in Kuliyapitiya  recently and admitted  to Kuliyapitiya hospital for treatment .Later on 17 th  of October she had been transferred to IDH Hospital for further treatment as her condition worsened.

The deceased died due to the complications of her heart ailment and other non communicable diseases she had suffered from according to Doctors .
