Sri Lanka's First Female DIG Has Been Appointed

 The Senior Superintendent Of Police (SSP)   Bimsani  Jasingharachchi has been appointed as the First female Deputy Inspector General Of Police (DIG) in the country yesterday (13)  according to the Police Headquarters .Accordingly she has been appointed as the Deputy Inspector General of Police in charge of Police Welfare Division .

National Police Commission has approved this appointment of New female DIG recommended to the commission by the Acting Inspector General Of Police (IGP) Chandana Wikramaratne  the Police headquarters has announced ,

The new Female DIG Jasingharachchi is also a member of Children  and Women's Bureau of the Police Department .



194 Corona Positives Reported Yesterday (13)-Number Of Brandix Corona Cluster Has Been Increased To 1591

 A total of 194 Corona positives  related to the Minuwangoda Brandix Corona Cluster had been reported in the Country yesterday (13)according to the Epidemiology Unit .

Out of these Corona positives 114 were identified as contacts of the Brandix Corona Cluster members and 80 were members of the Cluster who are under quarantine at Quarantine Centers .Majority of these positives were identified from Gampaha (36),Minuwangoda (38 ) and Divulapitiya (34 ) areas which are under quarantine lockdown in Gampaha District .07 Corona positives had been reported in Colombo yesterday and at least one  positive had been reported  from areas which are not under quarantine curfew including Kaduwela ,Nugegoda, Rathmalana ,Negambo , Ja -Ela ,Horana ,Anuradhapaura,Kalutara and Ratnapura  it has been reported ,

Forty two (42 ) positives were tested positive whilst at a Boarding house in Seeduwa area which is not under lockdown according to the head of the Covid-19 Prevention National Center, Army Commander General Shavendre De Silva .

Up to yesterday (13) a total of 5038 Corona Positives had been reported in the country with 13 deaths according to the Epidemiology Unit .At the moment 1697 Corona positives are being treated in Government Hospitals .

Seven Employees At Main Office Of Brandix Apperal In Colombo Had Been Tested Positive For Corona Virus

 Seven employees attached to the Main factory of Brandix Apperal group in Colpetty (Colombo )had been tested positive for Corona virus yesterday (13)bringing the total number of Corona positives related to Minuwangoda Brandix Corona Cluster


identified from Colombo District to 10.

All the seven Brandix Apperal  employees tested positive for Corona virus  yesterday are residents in Colombo District and related to the Minuwangoda Brandix Corona Cluster it has been revealed .

These employees were under quarantine  when they were tested positive for Corona Virus  through "PCR "tests conducted on them  and they were hospitalized afterwards .

The partners of these positive employees at Brandix Apperal Main Office are Doctors, Bank officers and Executive officers and wife of one positive is a Doctor attached to South Colombo  (Kalubowila )Teaching Hospital and currently under maternity leave it has been reported. 

The husband of the said doctor had also visited the recently concluded International Book Fair in BMICH it has been revealed .

Six Shops At Borella Area Closed Down As Few Corona Positives In The Area Vsited Them

 Six Shops including two cafes at Borella (Colombo )had  been closed down temporarily yesterday (13)as few Corona positives identified at Leslie rangala road in Borella reported as  visited these shops .

These Corona positives had been identified during the "PCR "tests carroedout in the area .

Government Has Requested All Public And Private Institutions To Update The Details Of Their Employees

 Government has requested all the Public and Private institutions in the country to update the personal details of all their employees within next 03 days in view of Current corona pandemic.

Government is being expected all institutions in the country  to update their employees details after
knowing that personal details of those  employees at Brandix Apparel factory in Minuwangoda   who went missing soon after the creating of a Corona cluster were not updated .The contact numbers /lodging places, and  resident addresses of those employees who are in hiding are incorrect according to Polic Media Spokesman  Deputy Inspector General Of Police (DIG ) Ajith Rohana .
