The Female Superviser Attached To Beandix Corona Cluster Who Had Tested Positive For Corona Virus Believes To Be Nor the First Positive In the Cluster - Dr Sudath Samaraweera

 The female superviser attached to the
Brandix Apparel. factory at Minuwangoda area who had tested positive for Corona virus last weekend cannot be considered as the first Corona postrive reported in the  factory as Some other employees at the factory had shown Corona Virus symptoms like fever ,Cold ,Cough and respiratory problems since 20th of September according to the Director of Epidemeology Unit.

Accordingly still the authorities are not able to find the first Corona positive of the Brandix cluster Dr.Samaraweera has told during a press briefing held at Health Promotions Bureau in Colombo on Wednesday (07).

The Highest Number Of "PCR "Tests Performed On Tuesday

 A total of 4880 "PCR "tests had  been
performed  on Tuesday  (06)to identify Corona positives, passing the total number of "PCR "tests performed in the country 300,000  according to Health Promotions Bureau .

Accordingly a total of 303,318 "PCR "Tests had been performed in the country since 18 th of february this year the Bureau has stated .

The number of "PCR "Tests carried out last tuesday was the highest number of such tesrs cartied out in a single day here and majority of these tests were performed on Brandix  Corona cluster members it has been revealed. 




Another 207 Corona Positives Had Been Rwported In The Countey Today (07) -All Were Members Of Brandix Corona Ckuster

 A total of 207 Corona positives had been reported from the Brandix apare arel factory Corona cluster today (07),Increasing the total number of Corona positives reported in the country to 4459 according to Epidemeology Unit .

Accordingky out of the last 06 Corona positives reported in the country ,04 were members of the Brandix Corona cluster and 01 was a factory worker of the Brandix Apparel Factory at Welisara and other one was a female sanitary worker at Katunayake International Airport .

The last two Corona positives are close contacts of the Brandix Corona positives it has been revealed .

Meanwhile Brandix Corona cluster now becomes the biggest ever Corona cluster created in the local society during the Corona pandamic .Previously the record was held by Navy corona cluster with 950 positives. 

At the moment 1172 Corona positives are being treated at Government Hospitals.

The employee had tested posotive for Corona virus after the authorities performed "PCR "for 93  employees at the factory yesterday  (06)it has been revealed .

Seven Corona Positives Had Been Discharged From Hospitals Today (06)

Seven Corona Positives had been discharged from government hospitals today (06)  after full recovery according to Epidemeology Unit .

Accordingly the total number of Corona positives discharged from hospitals so far had risen to 3266 the unit has stated .

101 School Children And Teachers Of A School In Gampaha Tested Negative For Corona Virus

A total of 101 members of the school
attended by the female student who had tested positive for  Corona virus recently ,had been tested negative for Corona virus according to the  Public Health Inspector of the area .

Accordingly 43 Students of the class of the Corona positive student who is a daughter of the Corona positive female reported from Brandix Apparel Factory in Minuwangoda area and 58 teachers and non academic staff members of the school who were undergone "PCR "tests had been tested negative for the virus .

Around 1500 students of the school are being quarantined by Health officials of Gampaha District.
