Three Corona Positives Had Been Reported Today (20)

A total of 03 Corona positives had been
reported today (20)in the country ,increasing the total number of Corona positives reported so far to 3287according to Epidemeology Unit.

Accordingly 03 arrivals from Saudi Arabia had tested positive for Corona virus  today (20). Yesterday 02 Corona positives had been reported in the country.

At the moment 186 Corona positives are being treated at Government Hospitals.


Four Persons Were Arrested Over Transporting Cattle To A Slaughter House

KahatagasdigiLiya Police had yesterday
(19)arrested 04 persons whilst illegally  transporting 13 cattle to a slaughter house at KahatagasdigiLiya area from Padaviya and ethalbindunuwewa   areas by two lorries.

The suspects had transported the cattle without a licence it has been revealed.

The suspects are residents of Padaviya and Kiriibnawa areas .

28 Corona Positives Had Been Discharged From Hospitals Both Yesterday And Today (20)

A total of 28 Corona positives had been
discharged from hospitals both yesterday (19) and today  (20) after full recovery according to Epidemeology Unit .

Accordingly 10 Corona positives had been discharged from IDH Hospital ,Angoda ,Welikanda Base Hospital and Iranawila Hospitals yesterday(19) and 18 Corona positives had been discharged from IDH and Welikanda Base hospitals today  (20)the unit has stated.

At the moment 186 Corona positives are being treated at Government Hospitals. 

A 21 Day Old Baby Girl And Her Parents Died After Air Sinking Building Had Fallen Over Their House This Morning (20)


  • A 21 day old infant girl and her parents have died after a five storied building located at an unstable land in Sangamitta Road ,Buwelikada area ,Kandy had fallen over a House and  a hotel located in the   lower area   around 5 a.m this morning (20) according to Police.  


Two females at the house which was destroyed due to the building collapse including the deceased female s mother had been rescued unharmed soon after the collapse and later forces have managed to rescue the infant girl stuck inside a concrete slab ,however she had succumbed to her injuries on admission to Kandy National Hospital.

After 10 hour search operation carried out by Army, Police and Disaster Management Center officials bodies of infant s parents had been recovered. The deceased mother of the infant was a lawyer and a lecturer it has been revealed.

Both parents of infants died due to the injuries received as a result of concrete slab fallen over them following the building collapse .

The owner of the five storied building which was collapsed over the house is a former Basnayaka Niame of a Devalaya and he and his family members left the building around 3-4 p.m  believes to be after knowing the building was going to collapse due to sinking problem .

Meanwhile National Geological Survey Bureau had examined the collapsed building this evening. According to the Bureau officials families lived in  three houses  in the area were informed to vacate their premises due to the sinking problem of the area .

Police are investigating on the incident.

After Giving Permission To Hold Large Gatherings Some Officials Now Shedding Crocodile Tears Over The Corona Threat

Health officials who had given
permission to hold Colombo International Book Fair and some other events with large gatherings  are now saying that  some of the visitors at these event venues including the Book fair at BMICH   do not follow Anti Corona health guidelines issued to them.


  • Even some reality shows and an Tele  Award Ceremony too  held in Colombo today (19)without adapting Anti Corona health guidelines adding fuel to the carelessness of public these days . 

What officials should do is stop any kind of large gatherings these days in view  of preventing Spreading Corona virus here according to Health  specialists .

A Female Was Arrested With 64 Grammes Of Heroin

Police Anti Narcotic Bureau officials
had today  (19) today  arrested a 24 year old female with 64 Grammes and 800 Mili Grammes of Heroin in her possession at 225 watte area at Nagalagamweediya ,Grandpass (Colombo ).

Accordingly the suspected female who was arrested with narcotics is a
 resident of Colombo -14 and she is  scheduled to be produced before Maligakanda Magistrate Court.
