Thirteenth Corona Death In The Country Has Been Reported Today (14)

A 60 year old Sri Lankan Naval man

returned from Bahrain recently has died today  (14)due to Corona  virus infection at Chilaw Base hospital it has been reported .

This was the 13 th Corona death reported from Sri Lanka according to hospital sources .

The deceased who was a resident of Nugegoda area in Colombo had returned to Sri Lanka on 02 nd of September and he had been admitted to Chilaw base Hospital on 09 th after falling sick whilst under quarantine.

He has died due to a  heart problem and only after his death it has been confirmed that he was a corona positive it has been revealed .

He had tested negative for the Corona Virus  in the first PCR test performed on him after arriving here.

Seven Persons Were Critically Injured And Hospitalized Due To A Road Accident

Seven persons including three school

children had been critically injured and hospitalized after a Three Wheeler travelling from Agarapathana area to Kotagala on Nuwara Eliya -Hatton road had collided with a Bus stand cover at Pathana  junction last evening (13).

The injured including three persons traveling in the three Wheeler and three Students and a female at the Bus stand were admitted to Kotagala Provincial Hospital

The incident occurred as the Three driver 's inability to control the speed of the three wheeler according to Police.  

Hunger Strike Launched By A Group Of Prison Inmates At Boossa Had Called Off

The hunger strike launched by around

45 prison inmates at Boossa Prison in Galle including some big criminals  since  last Thursday  (10)morning demanding solutions for few of their demands  had been called off today (14) according to prison sources.

Accordingly out of the 45 Prison inmates who were involved in the hunger strike 24 were stopped the strike yesterday (13) and Criminal kanjipani  Imran has been reported as hospitalized due to illness.

The remaining 20 inmates involved in the hunger strike had stooped it today marking the end of the strike without winning demands it has been reported.

Some big criminals including Kanjipani Imran  ,Podi lassie, Dematagoda Chaminda,Parey suda and Japan Chuti  were among those inmates involved in the hunger strike and they have demanded the solution  for their demands including stopping the searching inside of prisons by special task force, lifting the ban imposed on relatives visiting prisons and lifting the ban on allowing prison inmates to call their relatives .

  

Toral Number Of Corona Positives Discharged From Hospitals So Far Had Exceeded 3000

According to the Epidemeology Unit 22

Corona positives had been discharged from hospitals both yesterday (13) and today  (14).

Accordingly 13 Corona positives had been discharged from hospitals yesterday and 09 had been discharged today ,increasing the total number of discharged positives to 3005  .

A total of 39 Corona Positives had been

reported yesterday  (13) in the country increasing the total number of Corona positives reported so far to 3234 according to Epidemeology Unit.

Accordingly 16 arrivals from Qatar ,12 arrivals from  United Arab Emirates (UAE),06 arrivals from  Kuwait ,02 arrivals from Maldives, 01 arrival from Ethiopia a Ukrainian National from Thailand and a Sea Marshal arrived from Red Sea had tested positive for Corona virus. 

At the moment 217 Corona positives are being treated at Government Hospitals it has been reported .
