664 Sri Lankans Stranded In Three Arab Countries Returned To Sri Lanka Today (10)

A total of 664 Sri Lankans stranded at
United Arab Emirates ,Saudi Arabia and Qatar due to corona pandamic had returned  to Sri Lanka this morning through three flights.

Accordingly  293 Sri Lankans stranded in United Arab Emirates had returned to Katunayake International Airport from Dubai, 290 Sri Lankans stranded at Saudi Arabia returned to Mattala International Airport from Riyadh and 81 Sri Lankans stranded at Qatar returned to Katunayake Airport from Doha .

"PCR "tests were performed on these Passangers at the two  Sri Lankan  Airports before sending them for quarantine. 

Colombo High Court Had Sentenced A Heroin Smuggler To Death

Kulathunge had today  (10) sentenced a 28 year old person who was arrested on 16 th of April 2018 over keeping 29.71 Grammes of Heroin in his possesion and smuggling, to death after found guilty over the charges .

Police have arrested the accused at Ingurukade junction in Colombo whilst keeping and smuggling Heroin.

Afterwards Attorney General had filed indictments against the suspect at Colombo High Court. The accused is a resident of Palliya Road in Mattakkuliya ,Colombo. 
Police officers attached to Padukke police had arrested two Airmen and a female with 390 `Grammes of Heroin in possession at Padukke and Akuraaaa  areas today  (10) during a Police raid  .

Seven Corona Positives Reported Today (09)

According to the Epidemeology Unit 07
Corona positives had been reported today (09)increasing the total number of Corona positives reported in the country so far to 3147 .

Accordingly 05 Arrivals from Saudi Arabia, A sea Marshal arrived  from India and an arrival From England had tested positive for Corona virus today.

At the moment 189 Corona positives are being treated at Government Hospitals. 

45 Drug Items Had Withdrawn From Hospitals During Last 08 Months Due To Low Quality

A total of 45 Medicinal Drugs /injections
and Surgical items had withdrawn from government hospitals during last 08 months due to low quality  according to Medical Supplies Division  (MSD).

Out of these Low quality drug items 27 were removed from hospitals during January, February and June it has been revealed .

Out of these removed drugs Warfarin  Sodium tablets manufactured by a same Indian drug company had withdrawn from hospitals on 06 occasions and  Benzathine Penicillin injection produced by an Indian company had withdrawn from hospitals on 04 occasions    .

During last year 98 Drugs /injections and Surgical items had withdrawn from hospitals due to poor quality.
