Fifteen Prison Officers Had Been Interdicted During Last Two Months Over Corruption Charges




Fifteen Prison officers attached to prisons had been interdicted and Nineteen Prison officers had been transfered during last two months over  corruption  charges and breaching  disciplinary rules  according to the Prison officials.

Accordingly Fifteen Prison officers including two chief  jailors  ,A jailor and Assistant Supirintendent attached to Wekikada ,Magazine ,Bussa, Wariyapola, Polgahawela, Negambo, prisons had been interdicted  and 19 others had been transfered  since 10 th of June officials have stated .

Another Long Hour Water Cut To Be Implemented Today (15) In Three Colombo Divisions

A nine hour water cut is scheduled to
be implemented today  (15)from 8 p.m until 5 a.m tomorrow  (16)  in Colombo 13,14 and 15 due to an essential repair work according to National Water Supplies And Drainage Board.

During the water cut water supply to Colombo -11 and 12 will be under low preassure the Board has stated.

A Group Of 296 Sri LANKANS Stranded In Oman Had Been Brought Back To Sri Lanka Yesterday (14)

A group of 296 Sri Lankans stranded in
Oman  due to the Corona pandamic had been brought back to Sri Lanka by a special Sri Lankan Airlines flight last evening  (14)according to Katunayake International Airport authorities.

Also 10 Sri Lankans stranded in China had arrived from a far Eastern Chinese Airways flight yesterday it has been reported .

"PCR ' tests performed on all these passengers and latet transported them to nearby hotels Untill receiving their test results .

Drug Smugglers Selling A Narcotic Inhaler Spray Targeting School Children in Colombo And Suburbs

Narcotic Smugglers had launched a
missuon to sell an Inhaler spray containing Narcotics by  targeting school children in Colombo and suburbs according to the Police Media Spokesman Senior Supirintendent of Police  (SSP) Jaliya Senaratne.

The Inhaler spray is being sold for Rs.15,000 and it will cause School children getting  addicted to narcotics easily the Police Media Spokesman has warned .Parents and teachers should have aware on this and try to make every attempt to prevent school children become drug adducts due to this Inhaler spray he has further said .
