New Cabinet Ministers To Be Sworn In At Magul Maduwa In Kandy Shortly
Swearing in ceremony of 28 member Cabinet is scheduled to be held shortly at the Magul Maduwa of Sri Dalada Maligawa in Kandy according to the President's Media Division.
Prior to the swearing in Ceremony, Government had last Monday gazetted the functions and responsibilities of 28 Cabinet Ministries and 40 state Ministries .
It is expected that Prime Minister Mahinda Rajapakshe who had assumed his duties yesterday (11) will swearing in as the Minister of Finance and housing.
4960 Narcotic Tablets Imported From Nethetlands On The Pretext Of Ready Made Garments Recovered At Katunayake Airport
The Airport Customs officers had taken
into custody around 4960 Narcotic Tablets containing in A cardboard Box received to the parcel section at the Katunayake International Airport from Nethetlands yesterday (11).
The stock of Narcotic Tablets had been imported on the pretext of importing ready made garments through a goods transport agency it has been revealed.
The Parcel was addressed to a place in Colombo -15 according to the customs officers .The estimated value of the Narcotic Tablets taken in to custody is Rs. 24.8 million it has been revealed.
No arrests were made in this regard so far and the stock of Narcotic Tablets had Been handed over to the Police Anti Narcotic Bureau for further investigations.

The suspect who was arrested after been surrendered to the police had made death threats to the Businessman in Battaramulla before the election demanding Rs.100,000 for the election campaign of his father Mervyn Silva it has been revealed.
