General Election -All Election Propaganda Activities Ended Midnight Last Night (02)-Voters Are Being Allowed To Use Their Own Pen To Mark Ballot Paper Due To Pandamic
All election Propaganda Work related
to the forthcoming General Elections scheduled to be held this Wednesday (05) ended last midnight (02) .
National Election Commission has declared a 48 hour period of silence from today (03) untill the election day and All election Propaganda work or an activity promoting a candidate will be banned during this period the Commission has stated .
Meanwhile the General Election is scheduled to be held on this Wednesday according to the Corona Control Health guidelines it has been announced. A separate office for health officers including public health inspectors and MOH will be set up at every polling station in MOH areas to monitor the adapting of Health guidelines according to the Health Ministey .
Voters can cast their vote by keeping social distancing among each other and cleaning their hands by using sanitizer provided at the polling stations.
For the first time Voters Can use their own pen to mark the ballot paper at this election due to the Corona pandamic risk.However the pen used by the voter should not have contained an ink with a color promoting a candidate or a party Election Comission has stated.
If a voter needs a pen from the polling station it will provide a sanitized pen to mark the ballot paper the Commission has stressed .
Meanwhile as the National Identity Card is compulsory for voting anyone can produce their driving licence if they do not posses an Identity card according to authorities.

Three Drug Addicted Prison Inmates Had Escaped From Kalutara
Three Prison Inmates who are addicted
to drugs and resided in a separate prison cell at Kalutara Prison had escaped from the Prison in wee hours of last morning (02) it has been repoeted .
However Police officers attached to Kalutara North Police and Prison officials had managed to capture one of the escaped prison inmates at Kalutara town yesterday .A joint mission is underway to find the other two prison inmates according to Prison Authorities.
