Former CID Director Shani Abeysekare Had Been Arrested And Remanded Over An Allegation

Former Director Of Criminal
Investigations Department  (CID )Senior Superintendent of Police (SSP) Shani Abeysekare nick named as Sherlock holms of Sri Lankan Police  who had been interdicted few months back over some allegations, had been arrested by the CID this morning  (31)over an allegation of hiding an evidence of a fire arms case .

The Former CID Director SSP Abeysekare had been arrested at his home in Elvitigala flats scheme, Narahenpita according to Police. He was later remanded until 07 th of August by the Gampaha Magistrate Court after being produced before the Court this evening.

Earlier SSP Shani Abeysekare  had been questioned for 08 hours by the CID After getting arrested .

SSP Abeysekare was charged over preparing false evidence for a case on  recovering fire arms from Kalagedihena area in 2013 according to Police Media Spokesman Jaliya Senaratne. 

Most sections in the society however rated him as an honest and talented Police officer who had solved many mysterious Crimes  in the country .

Sixteen Corona Positives Had Been Discharged From Hospitals Yesterday (30)

Sixteen Corona positives had been
discharged ftom hospitals yesterday (30)after full recovery according to the Epidemeology Unit .

Accordingly the total number of Corona positives discharged from hospitals had been increased to 2333.

Four Corona Positives Had Been Reported Yesterday (30)

A total of 04 Corona positives had been
reported in the country yesterday  (30),increasing the total number of Corona positives reported so far to 2814 according to the Epidemeology Unit.

Accordingly an employee of a Lankapura Divisional secretariet at Polonnaruwa a close contact of a Corona positive of rhe Kandakadu Corona cluster  ,A foreigner arrived from Turkey, A person arrived from United Arab Emirates and a person arrived from Qatar had been tested positive for Corona virus yesterday. 

At the moment 470 Corona positives are being treated at Government Hospitals.
