Navy Arrested A Person Attempted To Smuggle 999 Kilos Of Dried Turmeric Via Sea Route

Sri Lanka Navy had arrested a person
attempted  to smuggle 999 Kilos and 500 Grammes of dried Turmeric to Sri Lanka  via sea route at oluthudavai sea coastal  area in Jaffna  on last Tuesday (28).

The suspect was handed over to Public health inspector ( PHI)in Mannar through MOH for self quarantine due to the risk of Corona pandamic .The stock of Turmeric taken in to custody in possesion of the suspect had been handed over to the Customs office in Jaffna for legal activities.

All Schools To Be Closed During Next Week Due To Election

All the Schools in the island are
scheduled to be closed down next week due to the Parliamentary elections on 05 th of August according to Ministry of Education.

As most of the schools are being used as voting and counting Centers of the Election and Teachers are involved in election duties, Schools are close down next week the Ministry has stated . Next Momday (03)is a poya holiday here .

All the schools in the island from Grade 01 to 13 will be opened from 10 th of August Minister has announced. Teachers and non academic staff of All schools are being requested to report to duty on 10th of August .

However schools with over 200 students will be commenced educational activities in different times with limited number of students attending classes at once according to Corona Control Health guidelines .

Earlier All schools  had  been commenced their  educational activities for Grades 11,12 and 13 from last Monday  (27) after closing in March due to the Corona pandamic .
