PHI"s Withdrawn From Corona And Infectious Diseases Control Programmes Demanding Legal Powers To Combat Corona

All public health inspectors  (PHI) in the
country are currently being withdrawn from all Corona Control activities and Control programmes on Infectious Diseases including dengue by demanding legal powers to prevent  spreading corona virus in the society according  to Sri Lanka Public Health Inspectors Union .

Accordingly PHI Union is demanding Aithorities to provide legal powers to prevent unconcious situations face by the public during corona pandamic  and withdrawing the statement made by Health Minister Pavithra Wanniarachchi stating PHI"s will not be legally empowered during corona pandamic the Union 's president Upul Rohana has stressed.

Due to this action Corona Control activities and activities related to Infectious Disease control programmes are being paralysed it has been reported. 






All Schools Are Scheduled To Be Re-Opened Next Week

The interim school holidays given to all
school children  during last week due to corona transmission risk ,has been extended until 27 th of July (Monday )according to the recommendations made by director general of Health Services, Education Ministry has announced.

Accordingly from next Monday only the students of Grades 11,12 and 13 can attend schools and the rest of the students are scheduled to attend school from 10 th of August after the General election scheduled on 05 th of August the Ministry has stated .

Meanwhile the Director General Of Health Services had advised educational authorities in Rajanganaya and Welikanda areas where corona positives related to Kandakadu Corona cluster had been identified,   not to reopen schools in those areas until 10 th of August .

Meamwhile new dates fixed for Government. G.C.E Advanced level and Grade five scholarship examination are due to be announced tomorrow .

Gazette On Corona Prevention Election Health Guidielites Issued -300 Persons Are Allowed To Participate An Election Meeting

The delayed Gazette notification on
Corona prevention health guidelines prepared by the Health Ministry only for the use of  forthcoming General elections had been issued last friday (17)night by the Government printer .

Earlier  the Corona prevention Election health guidelines submitted by the  Health Ministey Secretary has been approved by the   Attorney General Friday morning.

According to the Corona prevention Election health guidelines   prepared regarding holding election meetings ,canvassing and Election offices ,only 300 persons can  participate  at an Election  meeting by wearing masks and adapting other corona preventive  health guidelines.  and 500 persons can participate at a meeting if the leader of a political party or an independence group is participating in .

Only five persons are allowed to go house to house campaigns and all election officers as well as election meetings should have provided sanitation equipment for the participants .

The issuance of the Gazette Notification has been delayed due to a political influence it has been reported . 

Total Number Of Corona Positive Navy Soldiers Discharged From Navy Hospital Risen To 903

Four Corona Positive  Navy soldiers had
been discharged from Navy Hospital, Welisara both yesterday (18) and today (19)after full recovery increasing the total number of Corona positive Navy soldiers discharged from the Hospital so far  to 903 according to Sri Lanka Navy .

Accordingly two soldiers each had been discharged from the Navy Hospital yesterday and today .At the moment another 03 corona positive soldiers are being treated at the hospital. Navy corona cluster is the largest Corona cluster emerged in Sri Lanka during the Corona pandamic  so far .
