Former MP And LTTE Commader Karuna Amman Has Not Appeared Before CID Today (23) As Requested

The former MP and once a commander
of LTTE Vinayagamurthi Muralidaren allias Karuna Amman who has made a Controversial statement in Ampara recently saying that he had killed many Army soldiers when he was in LTTE ,had not appeared before Criminal Investigations Department (CID)Headquarters in Colombo today (23)to give a statement on  this regard.

Acting Inspector General of Police Chandana Wikramaratne has ordered the CID yesterday (22)to hold an inquiry on the controversial statement made by Karuna Amman .

As a result Karuna Amman who is now a member of governing Podu Jana Peramuna (Pohottuwa) was informed to appear before CID  to give a statememt .

However he had informed the CID today through a lawyer that he  is not in a position to appear before CID as  requested due to poor health and will appear once his condition is  improved.

Another 11 Corona Positives Were Reported -All Were US Arrivals

Another 11 Corona positives had been
reported by 10 p.m today (23) ,increasing the total number of Corona positives in the country to 1991 according to the Epidemeology unit.

All 11 Corona positives reported few hours ago were Sri lankans arrived from United States it has been revealed.

A total of 40 imported Corona positives had been reported today .

Accordingly the total number  of Corona positives currently receiving treatment in Government hospitals had risen to 432 .
