More Than 20,000 PCR Tests Performed Here During Last Two And Half Months l

From 18 th of February to 01st of May
Around 23,525 "PCR"tests had been performed in Sri lanka to detect Corona Virus positives according to the Health Promotions Bureau .

The highest number of "PCR" tests petformed on a single day which was  performed on 27 th of April is 1869 tests .

Health authorities have decided to perform 1500 PCR Tests daily at this stage and Epidemeology Unit had requested tbe authorities to perform 6000 "PCR"tests daily if a need arise in future .

12 Corona Positives Had Been Reported Today (02)-Total Number Has Been Increased To 702

During today (02) up to 10.30 p.m 12

new Corona Virus positives had been reported in the island according to the Epidemelogy Unit .With these positives the total number of Corona Virus positives reported from Sri Lanka had been increased to 702

At the moment 523 Corona virus positives are being treated at 08 Government Hospitals the Epidemeology Unit has stated.

During today 10 Corona Virus positives had been discharged from Hospitals as they were fully recovered .

Around 179 patients suspected as  infected with Corona virus are being treated at Government Hospitals by thus noon .

future ,Health Authorities should have increased the daily "PCR "Tests to 6000 The Epidemeology Unit has recommeded to Special Taskforce Review Committe on Corona virus prevention which met yesterday (01)at the Health Ministry .
