Six Passangers Had Received Minor Injuries And Hospitalized Due To A Road Accident In Jaffna

Six passangers had received minor injuries  and hospitalized as a Sri L

anka Transport Board (SLTB)bus travelling from Kareinagar ,Jaffna to Jaffna City was veering off the road and toppled over near a lagoon at the ponnalei bridge last evening (30).

The injured were admitted to the Jaffna Teaching Hospital for treatment .

The incident occurred as the driver was  not able to control the highspeed of the Bus according to the traffic police in Kayts ,Jaffna .

The Bus was trapped inside a water pump after falling in as a result it prevented  the vehicle from toppling  over in to the lagoon it has been reported .

Police are investigating to arrest the driver of the Bus regarding the incident .

Sri Lanka Has Identified 31 Corona Virus Clusters And Dismantled 27 Of Them-DIG Rohana

Sri lanka has identified 31 Corona
positive clusters in the society since identifying   the first local corona virus positive on 10th of March and 27 of those clusters had been dismantled according to the Deputy Inspector General of Police (DIG) Ajith Rohana.

Addressing a press briefing held at National operation Center to prevent Covid -19 spread in Rajagiriya yeserday DIG Rohan has stressed that 03 out of the 04 corona positive clusters are now inactive and there's only one cluster remains active .

14 Drug addicts are among those Corona positives that have been  identified in the country so far and through them the Corona virus has spreads to Nagalagamweediya and Gunasinghapura areas he has stated.

Due to this situation those who are living in Flats and estates in Colombo should be vigilant over this situation and avoid providing  accomadation to any outsider these days DIG Rohana has revealed .

If anyone found guilty over providing accomadation to a stranger these days in a home a stern action will be taken againt them he has stressed .  

Another Batch Of 125 Sri Lankan Students Brought To Sri Lanka Yesterday (30)From India

Another batch of 125 Sri Lankan
 Students who had been stranded at Kolkata ,India due to the lockdown of that  country had been brought back to Sri lanka yesterday (30)tbtough a special Sri lankan Airlines Flight .

The batch of  students brought back yesterday  had been sent to the Quarantine centers soon After their arrival at the Katunayake International Airport  through special buses .

This was the fifth batch of stranded Sri lankan studemts brought to Sri lanka from India .Earlier Students stranded in Wuhan ,China ,Nepal and Bangladesh had been brought back to Sri lanka .

14 Corona Virus Positives Had Been Reported Today (30)-18 Positives Had Been Discharged


Fourteen Corona Virus Positives had been reported in the island  During today (30) upto 10.30 p.m and 18 Corona positives had been discharged from hospitals according to the Epidemeology Unit .

Accordingly a total number of 663 Corona virus positives had been reported up to now and 154 Corona positives had been discharged from hospitals as they were fully recovered .

At the moment 502 Corona Virus positives are being treated at 08 Government Hospitals according to the Epidemeology Unit .
