Former UNP MP Ranjan Ramanayake Was Arrested And Remanded

Former United National Party
(UNP)parliamentarian Ranjan Ramanayake who had been arrested by the Mirihana Police last night (13)at his residence in Madiwela Housing scheme over obstructing the duties of police officers  was remanded until 20 th of April by Nugegoda Magistrate today (14).

Former MP Rsmanayake was arrested by the police when he had argued with police officers who had stopped a physiotherapist from entering MP ramanayaka's residence as he had not possess a valid curfrew pass.

The physiotheeapist got a curfew pass expired last sunday according to the police .The physiotherapist was also arrested by the police and later he was released after producing before the magistrate on Rs.100,000 surety bail .

However Former MP Ramanayake has told the media that the Physiotherapist is his friend and he came to handover a donation comprising of rice sacks and vegetables to be distributed among those who hadnt reveived dry rations during curfew hours  .

Meanwhile the former MP who had been remanded after producing before Nugegoda Magistrate court had been sent to the Negambo Quarantine center it has been revealed .

Another Two Sri Lankans Stranded At Airport In Lomdon Brought Back To SriLanka

Another Two Sri lankans stranded at
Heathrow International Airport in London had been  brought back to Sri lanka yesterday (13)from a special Sri lankan Airlines flight it has been reported .

The two sri lankan passangers a Male and a female had been sent to a quarantine center for quarantine soon after their arrival to Katunayake International Airport .

Now 16 Sri lankans strandad in International Airports had been brought back to Sri lanka under a cabinet decision and sent for quarantine .Another 17 sri lankans remain to be brought back to Sri lanka.

Two Villages In Beruwala Had Been Locked Down Due To Few Corona Virus Positives

Authotities had taken steps to locked
down panwila and Cheena -Koratuwa villages in Beruwala area ,Kalutara district to prevent spreading of Corona virus there according to Army Commander General Shavendra De Silva .

These villages had been locked down as a group of corona virus positives had been identified from these villages Army commander has stated .Accordingly no one in these villages are able to go out from the villages as well as no one can come inside .

Meanwhile Sri lanka Navy had arresred 25 persons who had close contacts with corona posotives at quarantine center, from Suduwella -Ja-Ela area yesterday (13) and sent them to a quarantine center.


Seven Corona Virus Positives Reported Yesterday (13)And One Today (01)-Increased The Total Number Of Positives To 218

Seven Corona Virus positives had been

 identified yesterday (13) and 01 today  increasing the total number of Corona patients identified from Sri lanka up  to now to 218 according to Epidemeology unit .

All  seven persons identified as corona virus positives yesterday (13)were from punani quarantine center and the seven positives identified on sunday (12)were also from a quarantine center who had been under compulsory quarantine due to their close contacts with former patients at the quarantine center it has been announced .

155 corona virus positives are now being treated at 03 Government Hospitals and 56 had been so far discharged  from hospitals after fully recovered .

Thete are seven Corona deaths reported from the country .
