Curfew To Be Lifted For 10 Hours Today (09)In 19 Districts

The curfew imposed in 19 Districts
except Colombo ,Gampaha, Kalutara, Puttalam ,Kandy, Jaffna Districts and Ratnapura and Palmadulla Police divisions is scheduled to be lifted for 10 hours today (09)from 6 a.m to 4 p.m .

The curfew will be re imposed in these areas from 4 p.m. today and will be again lifted at 6 a.m. on next Tuesday  (14 )it has been announced by the government today. However the curfew in these areas will be re imposed from 4 p.m that day until further notice.

Government has requested the public to follow Sinhala /Newyear traditions only with close family members and stay at home.  

228 Corona Virus Suspected Patients Are Being Treated At 28 Government Hospitals

According to the latest Corona Virus
epidemic situation  report  issued by the Epidemeology Unit 228 Corona virus suspected cases(224 Sri Lankans, 04 Foreigners ) are being treated at 28 Government Hospitals in the country by this evening (08).

Out of these suspected cases majority of patients which is 34 patients (32 Sri Lankans, 02 Foreigners )are being treated at Homagama Base Hospital and 24 patients are being treated at Ragama Teaching Hospital.

Majority of Corona virus positives in the country which is 44 had been  reported from Colombo  District.

Two Prison Inmates Suspected As Infected With Corona Virus Admitted To Karapitiya Hospital

Two Prison Inmates at the Bussa Prison in Galle had been admitted to Karapitiya Teaching Hospital this evening  (08)with high fever similar to Corona virus fever it has been reported.

The two Prison Inmates are from Mampitiya ,Galle and Devi Nuwara, Matara areas and the one from Devi Nuwara area had close contacts with a person arrived in from South Korea before remanded according to prison sources .

Authorities Decided Not To Lift The Curfew In Ratnapura And Palmadulla Areas Tomorrow (09) As Scheduled -A Gem Businessman From Their Died At IDH Hospital -Two Of His Family Members Tested Positive For Corona Virus

Authorities have decided not to lift the curfew in Ratnapura and Palmadulla Police divisions tomorrow (09)morning as scheduled due to the two coroms virus positives identified from mudduwa ,Ratnapura area today (08).

Earlier  the curfew in Ratnapura and Palmadulla Police divisions  scheduled to be lifted at 6. a.m tomorrow morning alomg with 19 other districts .

However due to the corona virus positives reported today  Police have changed the earlier plan .The transport activities between Ratnapura and Palmadulla too will be completely banned.

Among those who were tested positive for Corona virus at mudduwa in Ratnapura are the 15 year old son and Mother of the Mount Lavinia based Gem Businessman who has died today at Infectious Diseases Hospital in Angoda as the seventh Corona virus victim .The deceased was from.Mudduwa area and got infected with the virus during his visit to Germany with a friend it has been revealed.

However although he was tested positive for the virus at a Private hospital he has avoided attending a quarantine process even after Health Ministry has requested him to do so and was there in hiding .

Later he was admitted to IDH Hospital with fever last month and his wife and daughter too tested positive later and admitted to same Hospital.

Meanwhile around 60 families at Mudduwa area are scheduled to be sent to a Quarantine center for the quarantine process it has been revealed. 

Tharapuram Village In Mannar Shutdown Due To A Presence Of Corona Virus Suspect

Public health Inspectors attached to the Public Health Inspectors Office at Mannar had temporarily shut down the Tharapuram village in Mannar since this morning (08)as a corona virus suspect in Puttalam District reported as attended a funeral held in the village on 18th of March.

The Forner Deputy Minister Carder Masthan who had also attended the same funeral is currently under self isolation public heath Inspectors have revealed.
