The Sixth Corona Virus Death Reported From Sri Lanka -Four Positives Recovered And Discharged

A 80 year old resident of Dehiwala area
has died this morning (07)due to the corona virus infection whilst receiving treatment at Infectious Diseases Hospital in Angoda according to the Health Ministry. 

With the latest death the total number of Corona virus deaths in the country  had been increased to 06 .

The deceased is the oldest person to be died from the infection  in Sri Lanka.

Meanwhile Four corona virus infected persons had recovered and discharged from Hospitals today increasing the total number of patients discharged so far to 42 .

Another two Corona virus positives too had been identified this morning and now the total number of Corona virus positives in the country increased to 180 .

A 55 Year Old Sri Lankan Died in Melbourne Due To Corona Virus Infection

A 55 year old Sri Lankan Male  lived in
Melbourne, Australia has died last Sunday  (05) due to Corona virus infection whilst receiving Intensive care treatment at Melbourne Hospital  Australian Media had reported  .

The victim Sumith premachandre was the youngest corona virus positive died in State of Victoria where the Melbourne is capital. So far 40 corona deaths  had been reported from the state .

The Sri Lankan victim had suffered from Diabetes and it caused the worsening of his condition  it has been revealed 

Only Two Corona Virus Positives Reported Yesterday (06)-05 Were Discharged And 257 Suspected Cases Admitted To Hospitals

Only two corona virus positives had
been reported from Sri Lanka during yesterday  (06)the lowest number in weeks according to the Epidemeology Unit.With these two Corona virus positives the total number of positives reported from Sri Lanka had been increased to 178 .

Another five Corona virus positives who had been received treatment at 03 government Hospitals had discharged yesterday after recovery increasing the total number of positives discharged after being fully recovered to 38.

Another 135 corona active cases are being treated at Government Hospitals by midnight last night .257 corona virus suspects are being treated at 30 Hospitals by yesterday and 255  of them are Sri Lankans and 02 are foreigners according to the Epidemeology Unit.

The total number of Corona deaths reported from Sri Lanka is 05 .

Government To Continue The Curfew In Six Districts Until Further Notice -Curfew In 20 Districts To Be Lifted For 10 Hours On Thursday

Government has yesterday (06)decided
to continue  the island wide curfew imposed  in six districts namely Colombo ,Gampaha, Kalutara, Puttalam Kandy and Jaffna  until further notice as these Districts are being identified as high risk zones of spreading corona virus  .

However the curfew imposed in 20 other Districts  scheduled to be lifted at 6 a.m on Thursday (09) and will be re imposed at 4 p.m. after 10 hours according to the President's Media Division .

The curfew in these Districts had been lifted for 08 hours last morning (06)at 6 a.m. and re imposed at 2 p.m
m in the same evening .However as long queues seen there in front of grocery shops in many Districts even after 2 p.m.,steps had been taken to issue goods for all in the queues it has been reported .

During curfew hours essential services including food supply will be continued without interruption  in all Districts and the public will  receive goods they need to the doorsteps through the home delivery system introduced by government and other private supermarkets it has been announced.

However except food supply services  travel between Districts will be restricted during the curfew hours .Those villages locked down in Colombo, Kalutara and Kandy will remain same .

Meanwhile government has announced this week from Monday to Friday as a week of work from home for Government and Private sector employees.

Public is being advised to  follow  social distancing rules and curfew rules as these are introduced for the benefit of them the Media Division has stared.
