Cabinet Has Decided To vest Powers Of Appointing All.Foreign Mission Members To President
Cabinet has today (24)approved a
Cabinet paper submitted by President Gotabaya Rajapakshe to vest the powers of appointing all the Foreign mission members including Foreign Ambassadors and High Commissioners to President.
Usually the powers of appointing foreign mission members vested with the President and as foreign Ministry has time to time submitted cabinet papers to fill the vacancies of foreign missions ,Cabinet has decided to vest all the powers to president regarding appointing foreign mission members .

Special Tribunal Judge Panel.Has Issued Summons Again To Former Navy Commander Karannagoda -Stated CID Should Be Ashamed Themselves Over Not Handing Over Summons To Him
Special Tribunal Judge panel has today
(24) issued summons again against Former Navy Commander and Chief of Defense Staff Admiral Wasantha Karanna goda to appear before the Judge panel over a case filed against him as he again avoided the panel.
Tribunal Judge Panel had ordered the authorities to send the summons to Former Navy Commander Karanna goda through registered post and handed over a copy to him through Defense Secretary to Appear before the Judge panel over the case filed against him on abduction and dissapearence of 11 youth in 2008-2009 period at Colombo suburbs.
As the former Navy Commander Karannagoda has avoided the Judge panel today to face the legal case filed against him by the Attorney general
The judge panel has stated that the Criminal Investigations Department (CID )should be ashamed themselves for not being able to handover the summons to Karannagoda.
Meanwhile as the Attorney General Had informed the panel that the CID had handed over the original copies of the initial investigations related to the case against Karannagoda to Presidential Commission, Judge panel has ordered the CID to taken back those copies and returned them to The panel .
The case is scheduled to be taken up for hearing again on 20 th of March .

Army To Assist Police Motor Traffic Officers To Control Traffic In Colombo From Today (24)
Officers attached to police regement of
Sri Lanka Army are being deployed from today (24)to assist the Police motor traffic officers to control the heavy traffic prevailing in Colombo and suburbs in view of minimise the heavy traffic prevailing in these areas .
Accordingly Army Police regement officers will be assisted the police traffic officers to control the traffic in roads attached to Colombo and suburbs daily from 7 a.m to 10 a.m in the mornings and 4 -7 p.m in evenings.
This programme has been implemented by the Acting Chief of Defense Staff Army Commander Lieutinent General Shavendra De Silva under the instructions of President Gotabaya Rajapakshe.
