Three Vehicles Collided Woth Each Other At Chilaw -Colombo Road

Three vehicles, A Tipper Truck
,Container Truck and a Private Bus had collided with each other at Koswadiya ,Mahawewa area on Chilaw-Colombo main road last night (17)according to the Marawila Police Traffic Division.

The incident occurred when a High speed Chilaw -Colombo bound Tipper  Truck had collided with a Container Truck transporting cloth materials to a Garment Factory in Seeduwa area from Anuradhapura .Then a Colombo -Jaffna bound private Bus collided with the tipper truck it has been revealed.

No one was injured due to the incident which has been occurred due to the negligence of the Tipper truck driver according to traffic Police.  

Government To Build 05 New Power Plants

Government has decided to build 05
new power plants as soon as possible  to face the power crisis scheduled to occur in the near future it has been reported .

The Cabinet had approved the decision to build 05 power plants after considering a report submitted to the Cabinet by Power and Energy Mimister Mahinda Amaraweera regarding the current situation of the power field.

Around 1700 Mega watts of power is scheduled to be added to the National power grid through these new power plants.

These power plants scheduled to be built attached to  Norochchalai and kerawalapitiya Power plants according to sources .

Five Persons Including A Bus Driver And Conductor Arrested With 06 Grammes Of Cannabis

Keselwatte Police have arrested five
persons including a Bus driver and a conductor with 06 Grammes of Cannabis in their possession at Gunasinghapura Bus stand in Keselwatte area last night (17).

The suspects are of the ages 26-45 years old and residents of Negambo, Kamburupitiya, Kimbulapitiya and Passara areas .

They are scheduled to be produced before the  Maligaksnda Magistrate Court. Keselwatte Police are conducting an investigations on the incident.

Former Sri Lankan Ambassador To Russia Udayanga Weerathunga Had Been Further Remanded

Dissanayake has today (17) further remanded the former Sri Lankan Ambassador to Russia Udayanga Weerathunga Untill 26 th of February over his unlawful interference in Mig Aircraft Deal with Ukraine .

Udayanga Weerathunga who is also  related to Current prime Mimister and President had been arrested by the Criminal Investigations Department (CID )  last friday (4) on his arrival From Muscat ,Oman at Katunayake Airport had been later remanded until today by the Colombo Fort Magistrate after being produced before the court .

The Former Ambassador to Russia is being charged over involving in a corrupt deal of   purchasing  MIG Aircrafts to Sri Lanka Airforce from Ukraine  it had been revealed.
