A National Programme To Provide Essential Commodities To Low Income Fanilies For Lower Prices
President Gotabaya Rajapakshe has
decided to implement a National Programme to provide Essential Commodities including Rice ,Dhal ,Fish and Eggs to low income Earning families for lower prices through an Electronic card government has announced today(15).
Accordingly Samurdhi Beneficeries and Non Samurdhi beneficiries not engaged in an employment ,families without an employment and those suffering from severe diseases are being provided with essential commodities for lower prices .
An Electronic Card is due to be provided for the low income families to purchase commodities for lower prices .
These lower price essential commodities will be supplied to low income earning families through Sathosa and Cooperative sales outlets it has been revealed.
The traders will be given essential food items and equipment for concessionary rates to encourage them to sell essential commodities to low income families for reduced prices .

MP Ranjan Ramanayake Had Been Remanded Until 29 th Of January

Kumara had today (15)ordered to remand United National Party (UNP)MP and popular actor Ranjan Ramanayake until 29 th of January over defamimg and inluencing court judges .
MP Ramanayake who had been arrested by the Colombo Crimes Division (CCD) last noon(14)had been produced before the Nugegoda Magistrate Court this noon after being questioned on allegations levelled against him.
Nugegoda Magistrate has also ordered the authorities to produce MP Ramanayake before Government Analyst for a voice test to ascertain whether the voice in the recorded telephone conversations circulated in social media is that of him
Nugegoda Magistrate had issued an arrest warrant yesterday to arrest MP Ramanayake accordance to the request made by CCD .
CCD had requested the Magistrate to issue an arrest warrant to arrest MP Ramanayake accordance to the order given by Attorney General Dappula De Livera .
