Colombo High Court Issued Summons To Former Health Minister Dr.Senaratne To Appear Before Court
Colombo High Court has today
(13)decided to taken up for hearing the revised petition filed by the Attorney General Dappula de livera by challanging the Colombo Chief Magistrate ' s order to release former Health minister Dr Rajitha Senaratne who was arrested over conducting a press briefing on white van abductions ,on bail .
Therefore Colombo High court has today issued summons to Dr Senaratne to appear before the Colombo High Court on 17 th .
Colombo chief Magistrate had ordered to release the former Health Minister Dr.Senaratne on bail on 30 th of December after being arrested whilst receiving treatment at Lanka Hospital ,Narahenpita .
From his revised petition Attorney General Livera had requested to cancel the bail order issued by Chief Magistrate on releasing Dr.Senaratne on bail and remand him over the offense.
Therefore Colombo High court has today issued summons to Dr Senaratne to appear before the Colombo High Court on 17 th .

A Chinese National Arrested Whilst Attempting To Smuggle More Than 200 Scorpions
Airport Customs officers had arrested a
30 year old Chinese national whilst attempting to smuggle more than 200 scorpions belonging to different varieties illegally to china at the Katunayake International Airport today (13).
The suspected Chinese National had hidden the scorpions inside his luggage and attempted to smuggle them to china illegally by violating the fauna flora act according to Custom Officers.
Customs officers had confiscated the stock of Scorpions taken in to custody and questioning the suspect on the incident .
