MP Ranjan Ramanayake Had Been Released On Bail

Nugegoda Additional Magistrate H.U.K Palpola had today (05)
released the  Former Deputy Minister,Popular Actor and United National Party (UNP) MP.Ranjan Ramanayake who had been arrested by Southern   Crimes Division over possessing an unlicensed pistol and 9 mili meter 127 live bullets in possession  ,on two surety bails of Rs.500,000 each.

MP Ramanayake had been arrested by the Police last night (04) after searching his official residance in Madiwela area under a search warrent obtained from Nugegoda Magistrate .court

MP Ramanayake had been produced before the Nugegoda Additional Magistrate this evening (05) by the Southern crimes division after recording a statement of him regarding the allegation .

However Magistrate had imposed A foreign travel ban on MP. Ramanayake .The case against MP is scheduled to be taken up for hearing  on 17th of January .

Meanwhile Police headquarters has announced that there's an inquiry to find out whether the MP Had committed a crime by using the unlicenced firerm .Police had informed the court that suspicious docuements and CD's too had been recovered  from MP Ramsnayaka's residence during the search .

An Employee Of The Katunayake airport Arrested With 65 Gols Biscuits

Bureau of the Sri Lanka customs had today (05)arrested a 41 year old minor staff member(Porter) of the Katunayake Airport whilst attempting to smuggle 65 Gold Biscuits weighing 6 Kilos and  500 grammes out of the Airport through the departure lounge ..

The suspect who is a resident  of Kurunagala District has hidden the stock of Gold biscuits in his stomach and attempted to take them outside the Airport it has been revealed.

The estimated value of the stock of Gold Biscuits taken in to custody in possesion of the suspect is around Rs.58 million according to reports .

Two Persons Critically Injured As Their Cab Fallen In To A 20 Ft Deep Precipice In Viyaluwa

Two persons had been critically injured
and four others received minor injuries after the Cab they were travelling in veering off the road and fallen to a 20 feet deep precipice near the first kilo meter post in pitamaruwa -Kalugahakandura main road whilst on the way to view little Worlds End at Viyaluwa ,Pitamaruwa in Badulla District last night (04).

The critically injured persons of the ages 29 and 46 had been admitted to Meegahakiwula District hospital and later transferred to Badulla General Hospital for further treatment .The injured are residents of Katugasthota ,Kandy .

Four other persons imcluding a female had received minor injuries it has been revealed.

The incident occurred as a result of the failure of breaks in the Cab according ro reports .
