Colombo Chief Magistrate Had Released Remanded Local Swiss Embassy Visa Officer Under Strict Bail Comditions

Jayaratne had ordered to release the Visa officer of Swiss Embassy in Colombo  Garnia Barrister Francis who had been remanded over providing false abduction charges under strict bail conditions on two surety bails of Rs.500,000 each yesterday(30).

The Suspected Visa officer was produced before Colombo Chief Magistrate Jayaratne yesterday .Chief Magistrate had ordered the Visa officer to priduce a Grama Niladhari Certificatte to the court to prove her residenship and also Grama Seva Niladhari certificettes of two attesters signed bail application behalf of her proving their residentship.

Magistrate had also ordered the Visa officer to provide her current address to the court as well as hand over her passport to the court as a foreign travel ban imposed on her .

Magistrate has also ordered the suspected Visa officer to inform the court if she is planning to change her residence .

The Case against the Swiss Embassy Visa Officer is scheduled to be taken up for hearing on 09 th of Janauary .

Colombo Magistrate Court Released Former Health Minister Dr.Rajitha Senaratne On Two Surety Bails

Colombo Magistrate Court has
yesterday (30) released the former Health Minister Dr.Rajitha Senaratne who is receiving treatment at Lanka Hospital,Narahenpita under remand custody ,on two surety bails of Rs.500,000 each.

Dr.Senaratne had been released on bail after the Colombo Magistrate court has taken up for hearing the bail application submitted by the former Health Minister to prevent his arrest .

During the hearing of  the bail application  Lawyers appeared before the Government had argued that Doctor treating Dr.Senaratne at Lanka Hospital were not allowed Criminal Investigations Department (CID) to record a statement from him over conducting a media briefing on White van abductions .

However Lawyers appeared before Dr.Senaratne had informed the court that Prison officers had forced the doctors at Lanka Hospital to allow them to transfer Dr.Senaratne to Prison Hospital.

After comsidering the facts revealed Colombo Magistrate Court had ordered to release Dr.Senaratne on bail.

However the Court had also banned Him travelling overseas .

Dr.Senaratne is still receiving treatment at Lanka Hospital it has been reported .

Meanwhile Court had imposed a foreign travel ban on former chairman of Stste Pharmaceutical Corporation Mohommad Rumi over sponsoring the Media Briefing on white van abductions behalf of Dr.Senaratne .

A Gem Miner Has Died ,Another Two Hospitalized Due To Inhaling A Toxic Gas

A 44 year old Gem miner has died and
two other miners had been hospitalized due to inhaling of  a toxic gas inside  a Gem pit  at 12 th post in Udakaravita area ,Nivithigala last evening (29).

The deceased had fainted after inhaling the toxic gas inside the Gem pit first and another two workers who went to rescue him had also fainted as a result of inhaling the same toxic gas  it has been reported.

Three miners had been later admitted to Nivithigala Base Hospital where one had been pronounced  as dead after admission .

The deceased  was a resident of Pinkanda area,Kuruwita.
