Kanchana Ratwatte And Jagath Wellawatte Had Been Appointed As Heads Of Bank Of Ceyon And Insuarance Corporation
Lawyer Kanchana Ratwatte and Senior
Lecturer attached to Colombo University Jagath Wellawatte have been appointed as the new heads of Bank of Ceylon And Sri Lanka Insuarance Company by the new government.
Lawyer Ratwatte has been appointed as the new chairman of Bank of Ceylon by the Prime Minister Mahinda Rajapakshe and he had served as Director General of Telecommunication Regulatory Authority (TRC) and Chairman of Sri Lanka Shippimg Corporation earlier .
Meanwhile Government has appointed the Senior Lecturer Attached to Colombo University Jagath Wellawatte as the new Chairman of Sri Lanka Insuarance Corporation.He held the chairman posts of Sri Lanka Foreign Employment Bureau and Child Protection Authority previously

Wholesale Price Of Potatoes And Big Anions Had Been Reduced By Rs.50 -Consumers Not Receive The Benefit As Retail Price Remaiss Unchanged -Price Of Red Anions Is Very High
The price of wholesale price of a Kilo
Gramme of Potatoes has been reduced around Rs.50 at the Pettah wholesale Market from last Thursday (27)from Rs.170 to Rs.120-125 as a result of reducing the import tax on Potatoes by Rs.25 according to Essential Food Importers Association.
The wholesale price of a Kilo Gramme of Big Anions too has been reduced by Rs.40-50 from Rs.150 to Rs.100-110 It has been reported .
However the benefit of the tax reduction of Potatoes will not be received by the Comsumer as the retail price of Poratoes is not being reduced by the government the Association has stated .
Price of a Kilo Gramme Of Red Anions is very high as a Kilo is selling for Rs.800 at present.
The wholesale price of a Kilo Gramme of Big Anions too has been reduced by Rs.40-50 from Rs.150 to Rs.100-110 It has been reported .

Compartments Of A Train Bound For Maradana-Beliatta Severed From Each Other At Panadura
A Train travelled from Maradana
(Colombo)to Beliatta (Southern province) yesterday (27) had been disrupted as the Train Engine ran without compartments of the Train due to the Compartments had severed from the Engine .
The incident occurred near the Pinwatte Railway Station at Panadura as the compartmemts of the Train had severed each other and from the engine it has been revealed.The commuters in the Compartments had stayed inside in darkness for sometime due to the imcident .
The Train services of the Coastal Railway line had delayed around half and hour due to the incident .
