Government To Reduce Import Tax On Imported Potatoes By Rs.25

Government has decided to reduce the

import tax on imported potatoes by Rs.25 per a Kilo Gramme from Rs.50 to Rs.25 with effective from midnight to night (25)according to the Ministry Of Finance .

The tax  reduction will be implemented in view of reducing the increased price of potatoes in the local market the Ministry .

The harvest of local potatoes is scheduled to be released to the market in february it has been reported.

A 14 Year Year Old Boy Has Drowned

A 14 year old school boy had drowned

whilst bathing in the sea area in Weligama ,Matars this morning (24).

The deceased boy who was a resident of Weligama area had faced this incident whilst bathing with  three of his friends it has been reported.

The body of youth had sent to Matara General Hospital for the post mortem
