Imprisoned Avantguarde Chairman Nissanka Senadhipathi Had Teansferred To A Merchant Ward

The imprisoned  Chairman of the
Avantguarde Company Retired Major Nissanka Senadhipathi who is a chief suspect of  the case on maintaining a floating armoury at Galle harbor had been transferred to Merchant Ward of Colombo National Hospital from Welikada Prison Hospital yesterday (17)it has been reported.

Major Senadhipathi who was imprisoned over floating armoury case since 17th of October had been admitted to prison hospital since put on Jail.

He had been transferred to Merchant ward of National Hospital after attending a clonic of the National Hospital it has been revealed.

Ashok.Pathirage Appointed As New Sri Lankan Airlines Chairman

Government has yesterday
(17)appointed the Chairman and Chief Executive Officer (CEO) of the Soldtlogic Holdings Ashok Parhirage as the new Chairman of Sri Lankan Airlines .

The appointment has been approved by the Special Committee Appointed to select suitable persons to run state institutions Government sources said .

Sri Lankan Airlines is one of the worst performing state institutions recorded heavy losses since 2010 .

A Prisoner Was Shot Whilst Running Away After Escape From Prison Guard

A 35 year old prison inmate had been
injured and hospitalized  due to gun shots fired at him by the Prison Department officers last noon(17) at the  Homagagame Magistrate court premises .

Prison officers had fired gun shots at the prisoner when the he had escaped from the prison guard and  ran away.He had fallen after colliding with a vehicle and prison guards who had followed him  shot  at him .

The prisoner  was admitted to Homagama Base Hospital and later transferred to the Colombo National Hospital.He had undergone a surgary at Homagama Hospital and his condition is stable according to Hospital sources.

The prisoner had taken to the Homagama Court regarding a case filed against him on  Natcotic smugglimg .













A Seven Year Old Boy Died Aftet Falling Into A Well

A seven year old boy has died after
falling in  to a well at Kandegama,Ridimaliadda yesterday (16).

The deceased boy had fallen in to the well whilst bathing it has been revealed .
The mother had rescued the boy who was in the well and admitted him to the Bibila Hospital for treatment .However he had succumbed to his injuries whilst receiving treatment.
