A Wild Life Officer Has Been Killed Due To A Wild Elephant Attack

A 42 year old  wild life officer attached
to Rajjamnana Wild life office at Matale had been killed due to a Wild Elephant attack in the Wild life zone at Rajjammana area,Matale  during a mission this noon (15) it has been reported .

The deceased Wild life officer who was a resident of Raththota area ,Matale escaped from death due to a similar  kind of elephant attack five years ago according to reports .

The body of the deceased had been sent to the Matale Base Hospital for a post mortem.


Prices Of Rice /Vegetables /Anion Had Sky Rocketed

Prices of Rice and Vegetables in the
local market had  sky rocketed since recently according to Market sources .

Price of Almost all varities of Rice had been increased  exceeding  Rs.100 per a Kilo gramme and Up country vegetable prices had been increased by more than 50 percent and low country vegetable prices had been increased  by more than that it has been revealed .

Before the Presidential Election the price of  a Rice kilo was Under Rs.90 according to reports.

A kilo Gramme of Local anions is currently selling for  more than Rs.500 and a Kilo Gramme of Big Anions is Selling for more than Rs.200 it has been reported.The price of a coconut is from Rs.50 upwards it has been revealed .

Meanwhile Government has decided to introduce a control price
 for Rice and to reduce the import levy imposed on   wheet flour in view of reducing the prices of Bread and Bakery products .

However prices of Rice and Bread remains same .

Swiss Female Officer Ordered To Send For A Phychiatric Examination

Colombo Chief Magistrate Lanka Jayaratne has ordered last friday (13)to
send  female Swiss Embassy Visa officer Garnia Bannister Francis who alleged as abducted by a group of persons ,for a Phychiatric examination to be conducted by a Special Phchiatric Team and produced a Report of it to the court on this Tuesday (17).

Colombo Chief Magistrate has also extended the oversees travel ban imposed on the Visa officer francis until 17 th of December.

Meanwhile Criminal Investigations Department (CID)has announced that the questioning of Swiss Embassy visa officer regarding her complaint on abduction are still underway .

State Minister S.B Disaanayake meanwhile has stated in Kandy today that an Embassy of a friendly country was behind the abduction case of the female Swiss Embassy visa officer and truth will reveals if the vehicle and driver related to the incident got aressted .

However the Minister of Foreign affairs and several cabinet ministers of the government have earlier  denied the abduction story by saying it's a fabricated one.
