A Masive Wall Of Historical Galle-Fort Post Office Collapsed Down

The massive wall of a historical Galle Fort post office building had completely collapsed down last night (07)as a result of the heavy showers prevailed in the area .

If the wall is collapse during a day time it would have  become a major disaster as the road near the Post office building is busy with commuters according to authorities .Galle fort post office is known as the oldest post office in Sri Lanka  .

Brigedier Suresh Salai has been appointed as the new chief of the State Intelligence unit it has been announced .
This is the first time that an Army officer had been appointed as the State Intelligence Unit head .Brigedier salai was the Army intelligence unit head during the war against LTTE .

He had  served as a diplomatic officer in Europe for 03 years and in Malaysia 02 years.

A Person Has Died And Two Had Gone Missing After A Boat They Were Sailing Toppled Over

A person had died and two others had

gone missing after the Boat they were sailing in through the Mahaweli River had toppled over at Upparu in Kinniya today (08) it has been reported .

Altogether five persons were sailing in the boat at the time of the incident and two of them had managed to save their lives by swimming to ashore.

Waves of the Mahaweli river had rough at the time of the incident due to the heavy showers prevailing in these days  Navy divers have laumched a search operation to find the missing .
