A Sri Lankan Airlines Flight Diverted To Mattala Airport Due To Bad Weather In Katunayake
As a result of the bad weather condition
prevailed in around Katunayake ,Bandaranaike International Airport last evening(15) a Sri Lankan Airlines flight arrived in from Dhaka,Bangladesh had been diverted to Mattala International Airport in Hambanthota it has been reported.
The Sri Lankan Airlines Flight UL-190 had been diverted to Mattala Airport and later due to fly back to Katunayake Airport after the improvement of weather condition .

Around 67 Election Officers In Colombo Royal Collage Had Been Hospitalized Due To Food Poisioning
Around 67 officers who are on Election
duty at the Colombo District Election office at Royal Collage ,Colombo had been admitted to National Hospital in Colombo last morning(15)due to food poisioning it has been reported.
The Election officers who had fallen sick after consuming their breakfirst had been admitted to the Hospital with symptoms including Stomach pain ,Faintish feeling and vomitting it has been revealed.
Five Civil Defense Force personal engaged in Election duty were among those hospitalized due to food poisiining .The sick officers are being treated in medical wards of the National Hospital.
Criminal Investigation Department (CID)officers along with the chairman of the National Election Commission Mahinda Deshapriya had visited Royal collage yesterday to inspect the situation it has been revealed.
Around 8000 Election officers are being deployed on Election Duty at Royal Collage ,Colombo which is functioning as the Colombo District Election office which distributes Ballot boxes and Ballot papers to Colombo district for the Presidential Election scheduled to be held today(16).
Meanwhile another group.of officers attached to Election duty at Colombo District secretariet office in Narahenpita had been also admitted to Colombo National Hospital last morning due to food poisioning according to reports .

A Van Driver Was Arrested With 58 Fake Ballor Papers In Hambanthota
A Van driver had been arrested with 58
fake ballot papers printed as original ballot papers in possession at Suchi National school in Hambanthota yesterday(15) accordance to the Hambanthota Headquarter police .
The stock of fake ballot papers which are not matked had been recovered near the driving seat of the van which arrived in the National school to transport Ballot boxes to Iththademaliya poliing station at Mulkirigala Electorate by the Election officer ,A police officer and assistant getting in to the van with Ballot boxes .However there was a note near the stock of ballot papers says " for the information of voters "Police have stated.
Later the Ballot boxes were transported to iththademaliya Polling station by another Van .
The suspected driver is a resident of Molakapupathana area in Hambanthota and his van was rented for Election campaign recently it has been revealed.

A Person Was Arrested Whilst Distributing Ballot Papers
Dummalasuriya Police have today
(14)arrested a 27 year old person whilst distributing ballot papers from house to house at Weerakodiyana area in Dummasuriya with 155 ballot papers and 30 envelopes in his possession .
Police have also taken in to custody the Motorcycle the suspect was used to distribute ballot papers .
The suspect is a resident of Weeakodiana area and working as a security officer attached to a school in Hasalaka area .

200,000 Temporary Identity Cards For ID Applicants To Cast Their Vote
Department of Registration of Persons
had handed over around 200,000 temporary Identity Cards for voters who have applied National Identity cards ,to the National Election Commission to issue for the applicants .
The Election Commission had handed over these temporary Identity Cards to the District Select officers to be issued to the applicants through the Rural.Development Officers(Grama Sewa Niladharis) it has been revealed.
These temporary identity cards will be valid only for the Election day which falls on 16 th of November and they carried the color photographs of the applicants with the official signature of the Director General of Registration of persons Viana Gunathilaka.
Those who have received these Temporary Identity Cards can get an akternative letter signed by Rural.Development officer with their color photographs to cast vote in the election
