Election Campaign For The Presidential Election Has Been Concluded

Election Campaign for the forthcoming
Presidential Election had been concvluded midnight yesterdsy (13)according to the National Election Commission.

Accordingly All the candidates running for the Executive presidency had concluded their election rallies around 12 midnight.

Election campaigns of any form are being banned during next 48 hours up to the Election day which falls on this saturday (16) the Chairman of the Election Commission Mahinda Deshapriya has stated .

Addressing a press briefing held in Colombo yesterday The Chairman of the Election Commission has stressed that all kinds of advertesements related to the presidential election will be banned within next 48 hours after the deadline of the Election campaign.

"All the Election offices maintained by political parties in rural areas should be closed and a programme to renove all Election posters and cutouts is currently underway island wide .I wants social media users to be silent over the presidential campaign within next 48 hours like observing  pansil (panchasheela in Buddhism).But cannot accept them that in an enviornment which my photograph has been used for a political party advertesement " he has said .

A Lane Of The Ella -Wellawaya Road Opened

One Lane of the Ella-Wellawaya main
Road which  closed down temporarily since  25 th of October due to a landslides and falling of  rocks in to the main road ,had been opened yesterday (13) accordance to the Badulla Dissaster Management Unit .
The lane was opened after clearing the soil mounds and rocks fallen to it according to Ella police .The Road Between 24 th and  25th Kilo Meter posts around 03 kilo meters away from Ella Road had been  closed down due to landslides and rock falling .

Although a lane off the road opened since yesterday the landslide threat still there and Motorists are being advised not to use the Road during nights and be vigilant when driving during noon .

A Drug Suspect Was Shot And Killed When He Attempted To Escape From Police Custody

Image result for diedA 34 year old suspect who was arrested last evening  (11) by the Police Anti Narcotic Bureau officers with 33 Grammes and 600 Mili Grammes of Heroin in possession in front of Galle Urban Council had  shot and killed by the Police  when he had attempted to escape from police custody whilst taking him to the Judicial Medical Officer  (JMO0 of the Karapitiya Teaching Hospital .

Police officers had shot at him when he pulled the Police officers with him away and attempted to run away .The suspect had succumbed to his injuries on admission to Karapitiya Hospital it has been reported.

The suspect was a resident of Jambugaswatte ,Poddala area and he had 04 pending legal cases in Courts against him over smuggling Heroin.
