Popular Veteran Actress Chandra Kaluarachchi Has Passed Away Yesterday (01)

Popular veteran Stsge Drama,Tele Drama ,Radio Drama and Cimema Actress Chandra Kaluarachchi has passed away at the age of 76 years in her residence at Kalapura ,Mount Lavinia last evening (01).

She has entered the Cinema at the age of nine from "Raththaran Putha  "film screened in 1952 and also acted in popular films like  "Dhasak Sithuwili "(1968),"Thunman Handiya "(1970),"Weli  Ksthara"(1971)"Matara Achchi (1973)  "Wasanthaye Dawasak"(1979),Pawuru Wwalalu (1999) and 'Nisala Gira "(2007).

Lately she has played mother's role in many Tele Dramas and Films .As a stage drama actress Late actress has acted many stage dramas including Popular "Kelani Palama "

She got  married to popular Musician /Singet Lakshman Wijesekare and their daughter Ama Wijesekare is also a singer .

Late Chandra Kaluarachchi's funeral is scheduled to be taken place at Mount Lavinia tomorrow(03).

May she attain Nibbana

Low Land Areas Of Bagawanthalawa Submerged As Keselgamu Reservoir Overflown

Low land areas of Bagawanthalawa are
being submerged as a result of overflowing Keselgamu reservoir it has been reported .

Keselgamu Oya  had overflown due to the heavy showers prevailed in Mahaeliya Reserve  a feeding area of Castlereigh Reservoir ,last evening (01). .
Many low land areas attached to Bagawanthalawa including boyagana are being submerged as a result  .

The water level of Castlreigh Reservoir  has reached spill level due to the overflowing of Keselgamu Oya .

STF Personal Recovered 25,000 Kilo Grammes Of Waste Tea At Uswetakeyyawa

Special Police Task Force(STF) Personal had today (01) taken in to custody 25,000 Kilo Grammes of Waste tea prepared to export illegally during a raid carriedout in a Tea Factory at Uswetakeyyawa area (Western Province ).

STF Personal have arrested two persons attached to the Tea Factory  including the Manager of the Facrory over the incident according to Police Media Spolesman SP Ruwan Gunasekare .

The two suspects along with the stock of Waste Tea taken in to custody had handed over to the Wattala police for further investigations it has been revealed .
