Two Foreign Females And A Tourist Guide Were Rescued Whilst Stranding In Middle Of Keselgamu Oya
Two Foreign females had arrived in the area to view Aberdeen Water falls in Keselgamu Oya and whilst they have taken photographs at a rocky place in middle of Keselgamu oya ,The water capacity of the 98 meter high Aberdeen falls had risen suddenly and the water level of Oya too risen as a result of it ,it has been revealed .
Whilst the three persons stranded in middle of the Keselgamu oya ,Army and police officers along with residents of the area have rescued them by using ropes it has been reported .
A Person Was Arrested With 135 Foreign Cigarette Cartons At The Airport
Airport Customs officers have arrested
a 40 year old Sri Lankan Businessman who attempted to smuggle 135 Cigarette Cartons containing 27,000 Foreign Cigatette sticks to the country at Arrival Lounge of the Katunayake International Airport this morning (25).
The suspect who is a Negambo based Businessman had arrived in Sri Lanka from Kuwait and the stock of Cigarette sticks have been found by the customs officers hidden in his two luggage .
The Estimated worth of the stock of Cigarette cartons taken in to custody in possession of The suspect is around Rs.1.62 million it has been revealed .
Customs have confiscated the stock of Cigarettes and released the suspect after imposing Rs.25,000 fine on him

Fifty Two Unversity Students who Were Arrested Yesterday (24)During A Protest Had Been Released On Bail-One Student Remanded
Colombo Fort Magistrate court has today (25) released 52 out of 53
University students who had been arrested by the Police yesterday (24)during a protest march held from Maradana to Presidential Secretariet in.Fort at Lotus Road ,on surety bails of Rs.100,000 each .
One student had been remanded until 08 th of November as another legal case is there against him .
All 53 University students arrested over creating public preassure and illegal gathering charges had been produced before the court today .
The students were arrested when they artempted to march towards Presidential secretariet by removing road barricades placed by police at Lotus Roundabout yesterday (24)
The protest march was dispersed by the riot police using Tear gas and water cannons .
University students attached to Inter University Students Federation (IUSF) had participated the protest march yesterday demanding to provide Mahapola Scholaeship allowance without a delay .

Transport Activities Of Matara -Mulatiyana Road Comes To A Halt Due To Collapsed Soil Mounds
Transport activities of the Matara-
Mulatiyana Main Road had come to a halt completely for around one hour this evening (24)due to a fallimg of soil mounds in to the road following the heavy showers prevailed in Marara ,Mulatiyana and surrounding areas .
As a result of falling mounds of soil in to the areas Diddenipotha ,Mawarala and Mulatiyana ,Electricity systems in these areas had been damaged it has been revealed .Some trees too had fallen in to the Matara -Mulatiyana road which blocked the road .However Mawarala police have cut and removed the trees fallen in to the road and soil mounds too removed from the road .
