Water Level Of Kalu River Is Being Increased

Water level of Kalu River is being increased further from Millakanda area as a result of heavy showers
Prevailing in according to Department of Irrigation .

Due to this situation people living in and around The banks of the Kalu River should be vigilant over possible floods the Department has warned .

However the water levels of Kelaniya River and Attanagalu Oya (River) which had risen since this morning are being receded at the moment it has been revealed .

A minor flood situation is being reported in Dunamale area of Attanagalu Oya this morning .

The highest rain fall of 135.5 mili meters has been received by Dehiowita area in.Kegalle during last 24 hours .

An Employee In Southern Expressway Was Killed And Two Others Injured Due To A Motor Car Accident

An Employee involved in maintanance

work of Southern Express Highway had been killed and another two employees had been injured and Hospitalized after a high speed Motor Car travelling from Matara to Kadawatha had colliding with them and the security fence of the Highway this morning (22) at 30.7 L area in Southern Expressway as the driver of the car not been able to control the speed of the vehicle .

Out of the three injured , critically injured employee had succumbed to his injuries whilst admitting to the Nagoda hospital and two other injured employees had been admitted to the Bandaragama Hospital for treatment .

Dodangoda Police have arrested the Driver of the Motor Car over the incident .

Presidential Candidate Of National.Peoples Party Former Army Commander General Mahesh Senanayake Had Hospitalized This Noon

Presidential Candidate of the National

Peoples Party former Army Commander General Mahesh Senanayake had been suddenly hospitalized this noon (22)after falling ill at Balangoda area it has been reported .

The ailing Former Army Commander had been admitted to the Emergancy Treatment unit of Balangoda Base Hospital with high fever and later discharged from the hospital after recieving treatment according to the sources .

General Senanayake had arrived in Balangoda today for a discussion with the members of his party national Peoples Party held at a Resort in Balangoda .After the discussion he spoke to the media personal and suddenly fallen sick after returning to the resort .
