A Section Of The Dharma Shala Of Asu Maha Shrawaka Temple In Walasmulla Collspsed Due To Heavy Showers

Asu maha Shrawaka Temple (Viharaya) in Walasmulla which is more than 100 years old ,had collapsed last Wednesday night(16) as a result of heavy showers prevailed in the area .

The Collapsed Dharma Shala (Hall) was made from clay and hosted  Dharma Deshanas ,Sinday Religious Classes ,Classes of Little Buddhist monks and public meetings according to the sources .

Chairman Of Avant Guarde Nissanka Senadhipathi Was Arrested And Remanded

Services Limited Major Nissanka Senadhipathi who had  avoided the court has been arrested by the Criminal Investigations Department  (CID) early this morning(17) on his rrival from Singapore at the Katunayake Internatioal Airport .

Major Senadhipathi was later remanded until 08 th of November by the Special Highcourt Tribunal Judge panel after producing him before the Judge panel .

Attorney General Dappula De Livera had filed court case against 13 respondents including Major Senadhipathi on 7573 charges over maintaining a floating armoury in southern seas .

Although the suspect Major Senadhipathi had left for Mount Elezabeth Hospital in Singapore for receiving treatment despite the foreign travel ban imposed over him by Galle Magistrate court over the floating armoury ,Tribunal Judge Panel has stated his medical reports proved he has no serious illness to avoid courts .





Government To Abllish Carbon Tax Imposed To Fight Against Global Warming ?

Carbon Tax which is  imposed on vehicles to deter releasing Carbon to the enviornment as a part of reducing global warming ,will be abolished soon according to Minister of finance Mangala Samaraweta .

The proposal to abolish Carbon Tax will be submitted to the Parliament next Wednesday (23)for the approval.Minister has stressed during a press briefing held todau (17)in Colombo .

Most countries including Neighbouting India is utilizing the money earned through Carbon Tax to fight against Global warming it has been reveale .

A Tense Situation Occurred In Modara Mattakuliya Due To A Suspicious Vehicle Parked Near A Church

A tense situation occured among public
in Modara -Mattakkuliya area this morning (16) due to a laxurious car without a owner parked near a Christian Church and a school  as a result of a technical default of the vehicle .

The Motor Car was broken due to a technical problem last night (15)and the owner of the car had left the vehicle near the church and school it has been revealed .

When the children arrived in school this morning they have seen the Motor car looks suspicious near the school and a tense situation occurred due to it .
However the owner of the vehicle later removed the car from the place.

Some parents have seen taken their children home as a rumour spreads there's a car carrying a bomb parked near the church and school which was denied by Police and Army .

Another rumour spreads that  a suspicious parcel had been recovered near a school at Miriswatte ,Gampaha also found as false .

Army and Police have appealed the public not to panic over the rumours .

Special Police Task Force Arrested Three Persons With 15,000 KG Of Waste Tea

Crimes Raid unit of the Special Police Task Force have arrested three persons including a  Lorry driver and taken in to custody around 15,000 Kilo grammes of Waste Tea at Kandegoda in Ambalangoda today (16).

Police officers have earlier arrested the Lorry driver whilst transporting around 4000 Kilo Grammes of waste tea in a Lorry at Kandegoda area .

Later the officers had raided the Waste Tea factory in Ambalangoda where the Waste tea is prepared accordance to the information provided by the Lorry driver during questioning and arrested two workers along with 11,000 Kilo Grammes of Waste Tea .
