A Motorcyclist Died After A Coconut Tree Had Fallen On Him

A 24 year old Motorcyclist has died
after a coconut tree had fallen on him whilst on the way to work at Wetagedara area in Diwulapitiya-Gampaha main road yesterday (15)   .

The crititically injured Motorcyclist had been admitted to the Divulapitiya District Hospital where he had succumbed to his injuries after admission .

The deceased was a resident of Divulapitiya area .



Megapolis Ministry To Temporary Halted Disposing Of Colombo Gabage To Aruwakkalu Garbage Dump

Ministry of Megapolis and Western Development has decided not to dispose the Garbage collected in Colombo Municipal council limits to Aruwakkalu sanitary Garbage Dump at Puttalam district from tomorrow(16) as a protest over  Colombo chief mayor  Rosi Senabayake's comments against the Aruwakkalu project .

According to the Secretary to the Ministry of Megapolis Nihal Rupasinghe Ministry will not accept Garbage collected in Colombo municipal council limits from tomorrow .

Colombo Mayor Rosi sebanayake had criticized the Aruwakkalu garbage disposal project durimg an interview with an English Newspaper ssying some ministers have taken bribes by showing the Aruwakkalu project .

As it seems Colombo Mayor got a better solution for the disposing  of Colombo Garbage, Megapolis Ministry will not accept Colombo garbage at this point of time  he had stressed .

Navy Have Recovered Two Parcels Of Kerala Cannabis

Navy officers attached to North Central
Navy command had been recovered two parcels containing 86.520 kilo grammes of Kerala cannabis floating in the sea area north of Mannar today (14).


Navy believes a group of persons may have left the Kerala cannabis parcels and fled away from the area.

The two parcels had been handed over to Thalaimannar police for further investigations .

Mattress Factory In Panadura Severely Damaged Due To A Fire

,Panadura had been extensively damaged  due to a sudden fire occurred in the factory this evening (14).

Fire brigades attached to Moratuwa and Kalutara councils have doused the fire .The reason behind the fire has not yet been revealed .
