Case Filed Against Presidential CandIdate Gotabaya Rajapakshe Postponed Until Tomorrow (03)

Hearing of the case filed against
Presidential Candidate of Podu Jana Peramuna Former Defense Secretary Gotabaya Rajapakshe over vacidity  of his dual citizenship status had been postponed until 1.30 p.m. tomorrow (03) by the Courts of Appeal .

The case filed by Gamini Viyangoda and Professor Chandragupta The nuwara requesting the court of Appeal. To issue an order against Gotabaya Rajapakshe declaring he is   not a Sri Lankan citizen had been taken up for hearing today (02).

Attorney General has informed the Court that the Immigration and Emigration Controller has told him that the immigration and Emigration office does not have the first copies of the Du all Citizenship Cerficatte obtained by  Gotabaya Rajapakshe  in 2005 .

The lawyers of the petitioners had argued that when the former President Mahinda Rajapakshe signed the Dual.Citizenship Cerficatte of Gotabaya Rajapakshe in 2005 The former President  had not sworn in as President. 

Minister Sajith Premadasa Wants To Donate His Salary And Allowances To Eliminate Poverty Once He Gets Elected As President

Presidential Candidate of the
Governing United National Party (UNP )Housing Minister Sajith Premadasa has stated today (02)he will donate his whole salary and other allowances entitled to the President's post once he gets  elected as the president of the  country for the use of eliminating poverty among the masses  .

Addressing a Media briefing held today in Colombo Minister Premadasa has stressed that he will build  a society with  prosperity after getting elected  as President of the country .

He has also said that he will end the era of  the rulers living  Laxurious lives with the help of tax prayers money .

Former Ministers Athauda Seneviratne, Tissa Attanayake and former Deputy Minister  W.B  Eka Ekanayake had joined the press brirfing to support Minister pramadasa 's  candidacy for the president.      

All Railway Employees On Strike To Be Served With Letters Of Vaccating Their Posts

Sri Lanka Railways Department has
decided to serve letters to all Railway Employees who are on strike including Engine Drivers ,Railway Guards ,Station Masters ,Railway Controllers and Inspection officers as having vaccated  their posts from today  (02).

Accordingly All Railway Employees who didn't report to work without informing will be served with letters vaccacting their posts it has been announced.

Five catagories of Railway Employees had launched an island wide continous strike seven days ago demanding  to settle  their salary anomalies.

83 Percent Out Of All Deaths Last Year Were Due To Non Communicable Diseases -Dr.Mahen Wijesuriya

Number of Deaths occurred due to the
Non Communicable diseases (NCD's)in Sri Lanka last year (2018)has been increased by 8 percent compared to the number reported in 2017 according to the Executive Director of newly formed Alliance Lanka to minimise the spreading of Non communicable diseases in the country Dr.Mahen Wijesuriya.

Accordingly 75 percent of the total number of Deaths reported from the country in 2017  were caused due to NCD's and that number has been increased by 8 percent in 2018 where 83 percent out of all deaths reported last year were caused by NCD's he has stressed .

Addressing a Media Seminar on NCD's held at Health Promotions Bureau in Colombo yesterday  (30) Dr.Wijesuriya has stressed the need to minimise the spreading of NCD's in Sri  Lanka as there's an increase of children and youth caught NCD"s .

Heat Diseases /Stroke, Cancers ,Lung Diseases ,Diabetes and Mental Illness are the top five Non Communicable diseases which caused deaths among Sri Lankans he has pointed out .
