Two Children Injured Due To Exploding A Hakkapatas

Two children a two and half year old
boy and a ten year old girl had been injured and admitted to Karapitiya Teaching Hospital after exploding a Hakkapatas ball they have played with at Dalukkanda in Wanduramba, Galle today (01).

The incident occurred when the two injured children had taken a Hakkapatas ball made by a neighbour to hunt animals ,to their house believing it was a playing ball it has been revealed.

Police have arrested the neighbour who has made Hakkapatas to hunt animals and he is due to be produced before the Baddegama Magistrate Court .

Deaths Of Seven Female Elephants May Have Caused Due To Chemical Poisoning -Wildlife Director General

The deaths of seven Female Elephants
occurred at Thumbikulama Reserve in Hiriwadunna, Habarana area may have caused due to a poisoning of an Agro Chemical or a different kind of fungus according to the Wildlife Director General Chandana Suriyabandara .

All post mortem s of the deceased Elephants had been conducted after obtaining a court order he has stressed during a media briefing held in Colombo today (01)regarding the Elephant deaths .

It has been revealed during post mortem s that all seven female Elephants may have died due to a chemical Poisoning  and further investigations are being carried out to  confirm this Wildlife Director General  Has said .

Twenty Eight Garbage Trucks From Colombo Disposed Garbage To Aruwakkalu Garbage Dump After Protests

Twenty Eight Tipper Truck s carrying Garbage collected from Colombo blocked from disposing Garbage to the Aruwakkalu Garbage dump by protesting  residents of the area ,had finally disposed the Garbage to the dump after stoppage of  the protests today (01).

Residents around Aruwakkalu Garbage Dump had protestEd around 09 hours by blocking the Garbage trucks from entering the Garbage dump it has been reported.

However after the WanathawillUva Police have intervened and promised the protesters to solve the Garbage issue through Puttalam Court protesters had ended their protest.
