Water Levels Of Kalu And Nilvala Rivers Are On The Increase

Due to the heavy showers prevailing in
many areas of Southern Province water levels of Kalu and Nilvala rivers are being increased from milladeniya and Panadugama areas according to Irrigation Department.

Therefore people living in surrounding areas of these rivers are being advised to be vigilant over the situation.

Due to the heavy showers prevailing in Southern province The Galle -Baddegama main road and several.by roads had been submerged    it has been revealed. 

A Motorcyclist Was Killed Due To A Road Accident

A 22 year old Motorcyclist had been
killed after the Motorcycle he was riding in colliding with a Motor Car whilst attempting to over take a Bus at anapallama area in Wellawaya -Monaragala main road yesterday  (21).

The critically injured Motorcyclist had succombed to his injuries after admitting to Wellawaya Base Hospital for treatment.

The deceased was a resident of Anapallama area .

Express Train Derailed In Northern Railway Line

"Uththra Devi " express train travelling
from Kankasanthurai to Colombo Fort Railway station had been derailed this morning  (22)between pothuhara and Polgahawela Railway line .

Due to the derailment Train services of the Northern Railway line had been delayed it has been reported.

Navy Have Recovered 1616 Kilo Grammes Of Beedi Leaves From Iranathivu Island

Navy officers attached to Northern 
Naval Command have captured   1616 Kilo Grammes of Beedi leaves left at The beach area of Iranathivu Island yesterday  (21) during a search operation carried out there .

The stock of Beedi leaves wrapped in 24 parcels was left at the Beach by a group of persons it has been revealed.

Naval officers had  handed over the stock of Beedi Leaves to the Customs office in Jaffna for further investigations.
