A Landslide Occurred In A Section Of Southern Expressway
A Landslide had occurred at a large
area belongs to the newly constructed section of Southern Expressway Kirinda -walakanda area last night (17)as a result of heavy showers .
An area around 300 feet long and 75 feet high had faced this situation it has been revealed. The area is located at the edge of Matara and Hambanthota Districts it has been revealed.

Presidential Election To Be Held On 16th Of November -Deposits To Be Accepted From Tomorrow (19)
National Election Commission has
issued an extra ordinary Gazette Notification 2141/25 few hours ago declaring the Presidential Election date as 16th of November (Saturday)2019 .
Accordingly deposits for the forthcoming Presidential Election will be accepted from tomorrow (19)until 12 noon on 06th of October it has been announced.
The nominations for the Presidential Election will be accepted from 9 a.m to 11 a.m on 07 th of October accordance to the Election Commission .
Around 18 candidates have informed the Election Commission that they will be contested for the presidential election.

"COPE "To Launch A Full Inquiry On 'Lotus Tower Construction
The "COPE " Committe (Committee on
Public Enterprises )has today (18)decided to investigate completely on the construction work of newly opened "Lotus Tower"(Nelum Kuluna) from offering the contract of Building the Tower until now it has been announced.
Heads of Telecommunication Regulatory Commission (TRC)and other relevent institutes related to the construction work of the Tower will be asked to appear before the COPE Committe soon the Committee chairman Janatha Wimukthi Peramuna MP Sunil Handuneththi has stated .
The decision to PRobe on "Lotus Tower " has been taken accordance to the statement made by President Maithripala Sirisena during the opening of Tower that Rs.2000 million given for construction work of the Lotus Tower has been misplaced.
President Had stressed during his speech that he hasn't seen a fraud like the one occurred whilst building the LOTUS Tower .Chinese Ambassador and Government parliamentarians were present at the occassion.
