Supreme Court Ordered The Elections Commission To Conduct Elpitiya Pradeshiya Sabha

A Tribunal Judge panel of the Supreme
Court has today  (30)ordered the National Election Commission to conduct the Elpitiya Pradeshiya Sabha Election .

The Tribunal Judge panel  has issued this order after considering a petition submitted by the Democratic United National Front over a rejection of it's nomination paper for the election of Elpitiya Pradeshiya sabah. 

In the petition the petitioner had argued that the rejection of the nomination paper was illegal .

After considering the petition Supreme Court Judge panel has ordered the select officer of the Elpitiya Pradeshiya sabah to accept the rejected nomination list of the Democratic United National Front.

Meanwhile National Elections Commission Chairman Mahinda Deshapriya   has said today that the suspended election of the Elpitiya Pradeshiya Sabha will be held during the first week of October.

Supreme Court had issued an interim order to the Election Commission  to suspend   the Elections   of the Pradeshiya sabah until the conclusion of the inquiry on the petition . 

A Person Was Injured And Hospitalized Due To A Collapsing Of A Lift

A laborer had been critically injured
and hospitalized after the lift of a newly constructed building at Marawila Base Hospital had collapsed this noon (30).

The injured who is a laborer attached to the newly constructed building of the Hospital had been admitted to the Marawila Base Hospital for teatment and later transferred to Colombo National Hospital for furher treatment.

The lift was collapsed as a result of a broken wire it has been revealed.

Hospital authorities ordered the construction company which handling the construction work of the new building to halt the construction work immediately until an inquiry over the incident is concluded. 

A Heavy Traffic Congestion At Duplication Road

Police have requested the Motorists to
use an alternative routes due to a heavy traffic congestion  occurred in Duplication Road from Colpetty to Wellawatta few hours ago following the rain .

Accordingly Motorists were advised to turn to an alternative routes from the Liberty and Galle Face roun

UNP To Conduct Disciplinary Inquiry Against It's MP's Rathana Thero And Wijedasa Rajapakshe

Governing United National Party (UNP
)Has decided to conduct a Disciplinary inquiry against two of the Party MP's Athuraliye Rathana Thero and Wijedasa Rajapakshe today (30)over criticizing the party in public.

UNP is due to send a letter of explanation to both MP's today according to sources.

Athuraliye Rathana Thero is a National List MP Of the UNP and Wijedasa Rajapakshe had been elected to the Parliament from Colombo District under the UNP Ticket . 

Navy Have Fired Warning Gun Shots To Stop A Suspicious Boat

Sri Lanka Navy have fired warning gun
shots to stop a suapicious fisheries boat which attempted to flee away when checking at PulmudaI sea coast area last  morning  (29).Navy have later arrested four persons in the Boat including an injured person it has been revealed.

When checking the suspicious fisheries boat Navy officers have found that the boat do not have any fisheries equipment a valid licence or an indentification documents  .
