An Army Soldier Committed Suicide At Defense Ministry Premises
A 27 year old Army Soldier on sentry
duty (A duty one has assigned to perform )at Ministry of Defence in Colombo had committed suicide this morning (14)by shoouting himself with his official firearm.
The deceased soldier was a resident of Attanakadawala area in Polonnaruwa and attached to the Engineering regiment of Army Headquarters In Colombo .
The cause behind the Suicide has not yet been revealed
Colombo Fort Police are conducting an investigations on the incident.

Prices Of Petrol And Diesel.Increased From Midnight Yesterday (13)
The Price Formula Committee Attached
to Ministry of Finance had increased the prices of Petrol and Diesel accordance to the price formula with effect from midnight yesterday (13)
Accordingly the Price of a liter of Octane -92 Petrol has been increased by Rs.2 ,Octane -95 Petrol by Rs.4 and Super Diesel by Rs.3 based on the price increase of Crude oil at the World Market the Ministry of Finance has announced.
However the price of Auto Diesel has not increased.
The price formula Committe is revising the Prices of Fuel on Monthly basis based on World market prices .

Around 20 Houses Located At Nawalapitiya Submerged Due To Overflowing Of Mahaweli River
According to the Disaster Management Center the families resided in the submerged houses had been moved to safe places .
Meanwhile due to the heavy showers prevailing in water levels of Kelani ,Kalu and GIn rivers are rising in Deraniyagala ,Ratnapura and Thawalama areas respectively it has been revealed .
President Maithripala Sirisena Submitted A Cabinet Paper Seeking To Settle Rs.4400 Million Debt Owned By Former President Rajapakshe s Regime
President Maithripala Sirisena had
submitted a Cabinet Paper seeking to pay Rs.4400 million incurred by former President Mahinda Rajapakshe 's regime over services and goods they have purchased before 2015 it has been revealed.
Among the debt seeks to pay by the Cabinet paper was a Catering bill of a function held at Former President 's residence in Tangalle it has been reported. There were some reports saying a person suppling traditional Milk rice for state functions of former President charged little more than Rs.47 for a piece of Milk rice and that bill also there in the Debt list.
However Ministry of Finance has stated that government is in no position to settle the huge amount mentioned in.the Cabinet Paper as it will be a burden for the local economy and most of the purchases made by former regime were not done adapting a proper tender procedure .
