CID Officers Arrested 09 Persons With A Stock Of Gold Chains At Katunayake Airport
The suspects who had arrived in from Thailand from Thai Airways flight are residents of Nittambuwa,Gampha,Kirindiwela ,Mount Lavinia and Yakkala areas believes to be brought the stock of Gold chains from Thailand in view of selling it to the Gold Businessmen here it has been revealed .
The stock of Gold chains taken into custody in possession of the suspects are estimated as worth around Rs.20.8 million and the stock along with the suspects had been handed over to the Airport Customs for further investigations .

Veteran Actress Sabeetha Perera Had Given Evidence Before The Police Unit Of Presidential Commission
Veteran Popular Actress Sabeetha Perera had given a statement for nearly two and half hours before the Police Unit of Special Presidential Commission probing Fraud and Corruption of Sate Institutions last Thursday (01) over the charges on financial irregularities occurred when handing over her Private Building at Battaramulla to the Ministry Of Agriculture on rental basis .Earlier she had requested the Commission to give another date for her to give an evidence and as a result the Commission had informed her to come on Monday .However the Veteran Actress who had signed the contract with Ministry Of Agriculture when handing over her building to the Ministry for a monthly rental of Rs.21 Million ,had appeared before the Police unit of the Presidential Commission Last Thursday evening and gave evidence.
