Uva Governor Had Resigned From His Post

The Governor of the Uva Provincial
Council Marshal Perera had been resigned from his post yesterday (31)after being informed by the president Maithripala Sirisena to do so    it has been revealed .

The Former Governor had met President Maithripala Sirisena at his official Residence in Colombo last Wednesday  (31)and handed over his resignation letter according to reports .

The Former Uva Governor was   previously appointed as  Governor of Sabaragamuwa and Southern  Provincess as well  .

The term of Uva Provincial Council is due to be Ended  on 08 th of September .







Navy Recovered 30 Kilo Gramme Beedi Leaves Parcel In Northern Seas

Navy soldiers attached to Northern
Naval Command have recovered a parcel containing 30 Kilo Grammes of Beedi leaves at Southern coastal area of Kachcharhivu Island in North yesterday (31).

The Beedi leaves parcel had been recovered whilst being drifted   ashore it has been revealed .

Sri LAnka Navy have also recovered another 20 Kilo Grammes of Beedi leaves whilst floating in sea area near the Delft Island .

A Three Day Water Cut Is Being Imposed In And Around Monaragala Town

A Three day continuous Water cut is
currently on in Monaragala Town and surrounding areas from 4 p.m. yesterday  (31) until 4 p.m on Saturday (03)due to a cleaning work of a water In Kumbukkana Oya Reservoir according to the National Water Supplies And Drainage Board .

The Water cut is being imposed as a result of disposing waste including oil and Greese to the Reservoir by the Albeesia Power plant attached to the Electricity  Board the Water Board has announced .

A Proposal TO Extend The State Of Emergancy By One Month Period Has Been Passed In Parliament

Parliament has yesterday (31)passed
the proposal to extend the State of Emergancy by one month period from a majority of 40 votes .

Accordingly 42 MP'S representing governing United National Front and United People's Freedom Alliance had voted in favour of the proposal and two MP's representing Tamil National Alliance  present at the occassion had voted against it .

Leftist Janatha Wimukthi Peramuna MP's were absent during the vote .

The vote has been taken place according to a request made by Tamil National Alliance MP.S. Sritharan that a vote is  need to approve the proposal  due to the division on the proposal .
