A Wild Elephant Was Killed After Colliding With A Train

A Wild  Elephant of the age  around
25 years  had been killed after colliding with a Train travelling from Colombo to Jaffna at Ramanur in Puliyankulam,Jaffna this morning (20).

The deceased Elephant was around 8 feet tall and had faced the incident whilst attempting to cross the railway line it has been revealed.  A herd of 16 cattle's had been killed in the same spot a week ago according to reports.


Twenty One ASP's And SP's Had Been Transferred

Police Department has transferred 21 Superintendents Of Police (SP) and Assistant
Superintendents Of Police (ASP) with immediate affect the Police headquarters has announced today (20).

Accordingly 15 ASP's and 07 SP's  had been transferred due to service requirements .National Police Commission has approved these transfers

Postal Unions To Launch One Day Sick Note Campaign From Midnight Tomorrow(21)

Postal Unions have decided to launch a 24 hour sick not campaign from midnight tomorrow
(21) until midnight on Monday (22) by demanding solutions for several of their service demands.

Due to the sick not campaign work of the 653 Postal offices and 40 Postal Administrative offices throughout the island will be paralyzed  according to the Unions .

The strike is scheduled to be launched by demanding solutions for the Postal workers service demands based on promotions,salary anomalies etc it has been revealed.

Meanwhile Minister of Postal Services M.H.A Halim had requested the Postal unions to reconsider their decision on the one day sick not campaign as the government has already paying attention to solve their demands.
