Central Enviornment Authority Ordered The Company Which Imported 130 Container Load Of disposable Waste To Tranship

Central Enviornment Authority
(CEA)has ordered a foreign company located at Katunayake Free Trade Zone which imported 130 containers containing disposable waste tranship  to England where they came from .

The Foreign company belongs to a leading Sri Lankan Businessman had imported these containers full of used metresses, vehicle carpets ,Cushion pieces and disposable clinic waste  of the year 2017-2018 it has been revealed.

These disposable items had been removed from the containers and stored in the ground .

Central Enviornment Authority is due to take a legal action against the company which imported the  disposable waste .




Twenty Two Shops In Ginigathhena Identified As High Risk To Be Subjected To Landslide

Around 22 shops located at
Ginigathhena area in Kandy are high risk of  being subjected to Landslide according to the National Building Research Organization (NBRO).

A report regarding this had handed over to the AmbagaMuwa Pradeshiya Sabha it has been announced .

As a result AmbagaMuwa Pradeshiya Sabha chairman Jayasanka Perera had informed the owners of the 22 shops which are in high risk to remove from the shops else their licences obtained for maintaining shops will be cancelled .

These shops had been built without obtaining the approval of Pradeshiya Sabha according to the chairman .

Ten shops in Ginigathhena area had been subjected to be Landslide two days ago where a shop owner has died due to it .

A rainy weather experiencing by Many areas of Kandy had caused landslides according to reports. 

A Person Was Arrested With 203.265 Kilo Grammes Of Kerala Cannabis

Police Officers attached to Parayanankulam Police have arrested a
person with 203 Kilos and 265 Grammes of Kerala Cannabis in possession during a raid carried out in Andiapulankulam area ,Vavuniya today  (20).

The suspect was arrested whilst transporting the stock of Kerala Cannabis from North to south from  a Lorry it has been reported.

The stock of Kerala Cannabis had brought from india by Smugglers in North and from them the suspect had taken the Kerala Cannabis and distributed it has been revealed.

The suspect is due to be produced before  the Vavuniya court .

A Mother And Two Daughters Have Died Due to A Huge Tree Fallen Over A Three Wheeler

A 31 year old mother and her Two
daughters of the ages 03 and 09 years old respectively  have died after a huge tree had fallen over a Three Wheeler they were in parked at a house near the SuriyaWewa National school at Hambanthota today (19).

The incident was occurred due to the strong winds and heavy showers prevailed in the area.

Transport Activities in Norton Bridge -Maskeliya Road Suspended Due A Tree Falls

Transport activities are being suspended in Norton -Bridge -Maskeliya

main road since this morning (19)due to a falling of a huge tree to the road from moussakalewatte  area as a result of the heavy showers and strong winds prevailing in  .

The fAllen tree is being cut to remove from the road by Army personal attached to Moussakale Army camp ,officials of the Road Development Authority and residents of the area .

Norton Bridge Police have advised the motorists to be vigilant when travelling in the NOrton bridge -Maskeliya road due to the huge TRees located near the road .

Around 07 Died And Nearly 2000 Affected Due To Heavy Showers

Around 07 persons have died and nearly 2000 persons are being affected due to the two day continuous  heavy showers  experienced by many areas in the island including Western slopes of the Central hills, SuriyaWewa and Kandy areas according to Disaster Management Center.

Many roads have submerged ,trees Falken as a result of the heavy showers, strong winds ,landslides and soil Mound collapses during last today's the Center has stated.

Nawalapitiya Town had submerged yesterday due to the heavy showers it has been revealed.

The water level of Kalu River had Overflown from Ratnapura area and as a result residents of 10 Divisional Secretariets in Ratnapura are being affected due to the situation.
